No firewire. It stay in place when connected. I will attach a pic with a size reference when i get to work in an hour or so

No, USB 3 is the transfer protocol and typically refers to the data transmission speed.
USB-C is a new type of connector that is reversible (like Thunderbolt) and I think is small like micro-usb.
