So I have a gs 500 e that has a slight rust problem, the engine cradle on the left and right side are both rotted right thru, can I safely remove them completely or do I need to chop up my spare bike for the bits of tubing to repair it?
if you plan to fail do you still fail to plan?

If the spare bike has a complete frame, I'd be building around that one rather than trying to cut and shut.

My spare bikes have no papers so I can't legally use therm on the road, that's why I'm wondering if I can just do away with them cos as far as I can see they arnt a major structural part, I may be completely wrong tho, I'm just wandering if anyone has done it safely before?

If you cant see a need for them that's fair enough but are you qualified to make that call?

You need to ask yourself a question.......if they weren't really needed would the (very clever)  Suzuki engineers have wasted all that time and money and material putting them there to start with?

Are you talking about the square tube that goes down and back? Isn't that where the engine itself is mounted to?
