How many miles should a tyre last,?.

My front tyre have done 4k,and the tread depth has worn a little
inone,or two places. in the middle left
side,but not right aross the tread.

Any ideas as to why,?.

He is in England so would the right side be worn more not the left?

Are the roundabouts clockwise or counter-clockwise?
