So I blew my motor in my 1998 GS500E when i was in highschool, then it sat around forever. The motor went to waste so I thought it would be easier to buy a rebuilt motor. Long story short I'm rebuilding the motor.

Now comes the bearing problems.

I have the manual and looked up the codes.
The codes on my case read :
B     B
BBBB..... The code on my crank read BAAA. Is that normal? abnormal? suppose to be different? My Connecting rod read #2 and the code on the other side of my crank is L22R. Could someone please give me some insight on these codes and which bearings to order. I'm wanting to replace ALL the motor and tranny bearings.

Any help would be much appreciated!

The codes stamped on the rear of the case are what it had to start with. Its hardly any use, the over sized bearings are not available, and neither are any of the original sizes either.
I dunno, see if any of the serious racers can help you here, but from what I recall ... a spun lower end = dead motor.
Cool.

Can you get to the bearing itself? if you can see the outer race of the bearing. all is not lost. bearings have little funny numbers and letters stamped onto them..... if you can take a picture of the existing bearing outer race with the numbers on them, I can help.  :thumb:

Any advice?

Also It won't let me upload the pics I took. I can email them to you if you need.
