OK, shift around 6-7000...I get that, feels natural and you can pretty much drop the clutch for a smooth transition.

Question 1, I have not entered the 7-11000 rpm range yet, do you shift there all the time, or sometimes when you want to pull away, or jus have fun?

Question 2 once I am at a comfy speed, and I am over 4500 rpm I usually shift up. Putting th rpm lower, around 3-4000, I that normal? I is a normal cruising range for the non-turkey bike rider who knows wha they ar doing?

Knuttzz

To be honest for just normal driving and putting around town I hardly ever get above 6k rpms.

Most of the time I'm short shifting at around 5k.

Now if we're talking some serious curvy road riding I'm taching that SOB out. Prob shifting somewhere between 9-10k and always keeping the revs above 6k.

If I'm in no rush, just puttering around enjoying life I generally change at about 5-6000 rpm. And like Knuttzz, I hardly ever get above 6000.

If I'm out having fun and hitting the twisties I'll be up in the 8-10k range, and keeping it there.

So you're in the normal range: you only need the higher revs for better acceleration and if you are cruising about town you don't really need that.
Back on bikes and loving it.
