Hey...I live in Ottawa.....but my girlfriend lives in Guelph...well, she goes to school there.  I'll look you guys up in September when she goes back there...but...by that time, I will be riding my NEW VTR1000....get her this week actually...but we can still ride....no?

What's the mod on your GS?  I need to replace my mirrors.. quite a bit vibration.... anyone did the front fork mod?  too much brake dive for me..

I just saw this post.  I'm from London.  We could do a ride near Mississauga ...  seems like there are alot near kitchener too.

I have put in the progressive fork springs back two years ago.  About a $100.  Worth every penny.  Those stock springs are a safety hazard IMO.

People at work laugh at me because I guess they think a GS500 is not that cool so they ask me if I'm in a GS500 gang.  What would anyone think if they saw a gang of GS500 riders?

need to go to CanTire or HomeDepot to see what kind of PVC pipe can work as spacer...

oh.. just saw a blue GS tonight around Hwy7/404... but I was driving my car..

There is also another GSTwin'er in London as well.  I forget his name but I see him once in a while.  

Are you thinking about putting in an extra spacer?  Some others have also done this.  It should help with initial preload and give a stiffer ride but you will lose some fork travel.  This means that if you are braking hard AND going over some bumps at the same time, you could be in for a bumpy ride.  Just a thought.  It seems to have worked well for others though.  If you don't want to fork out the cash for the progressives, it's worth a try.  Honestly though, it's like a totally different bike with the progressives!
