I bailed on the R6.  After 9 months of ownership, I traded her in on Friday.  That bike was fun to ride and beautiful, but for a laundry-list of reasons, it wasn't right for me.  It was used and the previous owner had done tons of modifications, including a jet kit and pipe that made the pilot circuit a little choppy, cheap aftermarket signals that fritzed, etc.... stuff I don't want to have to correct.

The last straw was a recent mechanical snafu with the front sprocket that cost me 270 bucks to repair and could have killed me.  I started looking around and found a fair price on a new bike and a great trade on my R6.  It was only a 1400 dollar swing to the dealer and I was out the door on my 2004 SV650S!!!

So now I own a brand new bike.  I get to break her in and I will know every modification done.  I will know every mechanic that has touched her and I can be sure that she has had the proper attention throughout her life.  When its just me vs the pavement, that is a good feeling.  :)

That's more than a passing resemblance, dude.  I think the shrinks would call that a fixation.  Both look really nice, though so I can see where you might have a point.  Good luck with the new ride.   :thumb:  And yes, having it from new is a great feeling.

The resemblance ends with the looks.  That V-twin is AWESOME.  It puts down as much torque as the R6, but its all down low.  Its a smooth ride and it is fantastic around town.  I can't wait to throw a pipe on her and turn some heads  8)

:thumb: What took you so long?  Your situation with that sprocket on the R6 is nothing short of a fatal flaw that would have dogged you until you sold it or  killed you.  I've never swung a leg over the SV/DL 650, but that engine must be absolute magic.  Now, all you need are Progressive springs and a Kat600 shock, and you'll be in business.  Again,  :thumb:

:thumb:  :thumb:  on the SV  Great looking bike dude.  Yeah the r6 was kinda kick ass but I dont think I would have ever been able to throw a leg over it again if I knew a mechanical flaw almost killed me.  Enjoy the SV.

Pablo, you are the second person today to recommend the Yosh or the M4.  It'll be a while before I can get one on, but when the time comes they will both be on the short-list.

thanks everybody.  I'm really loving the SV!  Its a fantastic bike... I knew I would get some flak from the other SS riders I know, but I also knew that everybody at GStwin.com would be glad to see the prodigal son return to the world of twins!!!

At least you came to your senses and got the SV.  :thumb:

Get a M4!...I had a M4 on my race SV and sounded awesome! Better than any Yosh and M4 produces more power. Some people critize M4 for not having the best craftmanship but I had no problems with mine. Oh, did I say...Get a M4!
