i still consider you a friend wladziu my issues were/are somewhat mental as well as physical. then theres the first fracture, a week later another due to fall, which opened up first one. now dealing with weight loss as well as third fracture. cant get heavier than 131 it seems due to muscle atrophy. looking forward to hopefully recivering from the FX so i can physically move forward. had to take airboot off due to significant pain. youll see why when i get second xray up.

Medial inferior articular facet, near the talus dome?  Medial malleolus and deltoid looks fine, no sublux.  You pronated with external rotation? Can't see the effusion without a lateral view.

Forget atrophy.  Rockstars don't get to be fat.  Besides, if you manage your diabetes to handle 200 g lactose, you can run a GOMAD diet.

Left ankle still swollen  but is cold feeling with a burning pain. ( tib/fib FTL) STABBING PAIN OCCASIONALLY IN RIGHT ONE at plate location. i take braces off to wiggle toes and whatnot to at least keep that part working. OH weight back up to 141. will get the pics up hopefully by sunday. can do it from my comp at church office..

Frig this is weird. left leg is both cold and numb and on fire. will post the 3 pics sunday from office comp at church. probably will be 2 more after this series. 1 the repair of this tibfib and  the checkup of the non union R. as well as the original L.. i cnt figure that one out. the fib part. unless like wladziu suggested ( my ortho as well) that it was missed the first time. if they go ORIF on left will probably be Ti using syndesmotic screws.  waiting for swelling to go down. even the Fib on right didnt hurt like this. staying off of it as much as possible so it doesnt frag too bad.

and it happened. stepped off labding into den and the broken fib butted agailnst itself felt a pop. pain level is a solid 11 on a 1 to 10 scale. no sense in going to er tho. they cant do anything. bones not even fixed with plates yet. id say with near certainty this will be in 3 weeks? if like last time. a week after this followup then 2 hours inb OR. I DONT HARDLY EVER WALK ill use a walker if i must. cause the olne on R is burning too.  thats the non union one.. i feel on left a burning numbness if that makes anyy sense. beyond church sunday im going nowhere. and church is iffy at this point. course i can bring icepacks and keep them in kitchen. ever notice the harder you try NOT to do something , it is more likely to happen?  lol

I rented a wheelchair so there was no way I could put weight on anything, not sure if you've done this. Also, not sure if previously mentioned, but Aaron, how exactly did the injuries occur?

I got a rental also. ( yay insurance) if this ends up being permanent my insurance will cover an electric. including a KD smartchair weighs 45lbs with batts and fits in a small car. anyhoo i digress. how it happened:
August 12th ( wednesday) i stodd up turned on celing fan and prepared for bed. i fainted. rolled ankle went straight down. 12 hours later. im in ER ( r ankle distal fibula FX) Nwb
aug 19th  making way to restroom i stumble over pocket door track. (L ankle Distal tib FX + it opens up R ankle FX i.e it spreads apart. necessitating the Ti plate and syndesmotic screws. surgery on 22nd coded briefly on table. surgeon said i was out a few s2conds.  ( blood glucose went from 256 to 24. then later that week  went into Keto acidosis attibuted to shock on system. 4 days later at home. then contract septiccemia ( blood infection from cast wound)   :/ in CCU thu thru mon.  anyhooast week of sept., i feel great pain in left foot/ankle. i get a lace up ankle brace i figured it was arthritis from FX. nope cause on 10/7 wound care ppl told me to go to ER. I ASKED WHY. she said look at size of left ankle. this was when distal fib on left side diagnosed . and today, GINGERLY walking to restroom using walker. i feel and hear a snap/pop felt in fib like ends griding together. frig that hurt. tbh i wished i had broken my fibs up high like yours. probably would have been beasier to deal with. oh right ankle stilla non union. i.e. bones not even trying to grow together. will have a few films specially left series uplnoaded sunday. BTW congrats on bike. am envious

i do too. cause its feeling like day 1  on left one now and right one where the plate is , is now on fire. tried the RICE method

Holy crap!!  Why are your bones not healing???

Just another update. I don't have a cast anymore, I've been cut loose and just can't lift anything over 20lbs for a week. Just need to stretch out my muscles, tendons, ligaments, and break up some scar tissue.

coolness. my bones arent healing due to circulation issues. (mainly) idk about the tendons and ligaments and whatnot. yet.  will wait and see when i have left looked at again in a week and half  idk if it will be casted or plated or both. Eh? heres to healing

made a major mistake today. didnt take my wheelchair to doc appt. cause ethra had to pick up this handicapped kid. whose chair took 1.5 of the 2 chair slots on van. was in my aircast walked very little, but a burning pain now in that leg. other side too :/. tomorrow hell with courtesy. when i go for pre op bloodwork for the 27th, im taking the chair.

AMA took shower this eve. put majority of weight on plate side. R.. i looked at left seems its shifted a bit more. wasnt like that before the ETHRA fiasco friday. would also explain the muscle and foot going useless climbing stairs momentarily. like stepping on air. also explains the extreme pain now. scheduled to see ortho on the 2nd. i dont think ill make that date. will see if i can reschedule for this coming week. will be fun doing laundry. ill have to crab crawl down 1 and a half flights of stairs. well 1.25 1 down 90deg turn then a quarter down. lol

Think i figured it out , ie how fib fracture on left happened.
originally just a chunk of tib at bottom. well i took  that film, from 8/19 and other one from the 12th of this month and super imposed latest one over older one. my conclusion is fib FX was overlooked. or had not happened yet. the angle of this fx, mirrored the tib fx. err same spot/area. it finally let go. cause ortho and myself  trying to figure this out. as to how it happened. i mean, the nwb restriction had been lifted. when the moonboot was moved to orth leg after the sepsis incident. and a month or more of use ( albeit gingerly) finally fractured the fib. cause the new fx matches/follows apparent crack as well as fx of tib. all literally match

OMG. 1 pissed at ethra (incoming rant later) But spinal stimulator trial went amazing. the amazing part tho was the pain medicine they used. had to kill pain from wai7st down. doc used fentanyl introduced into spinal column. ( epidural area) 1 cant feel fracture pain for now. and until it wears off, cant feel ANY pain. plus i feel as tho im 20 years younger.. lmao. but fracture wise ill hold off until the 2nd for ortho. the stimulator helps, and my  pain med prescription, good to go for a while .

Something just let go in ankle while making dinner ( chicken alfredo) felt a "thunk" thanks to the SCS  device though i can crank it up and all i feel in ankle is pressure. observed a distict wside shift toward the medial (inside) area and talus/heel in aqn upwards direction. so im predomantly flat ffooted . not been on this thing for a month per docs orders. except bathroom and kitchen duties.. but its okay. ill keep the SCS ( spinal cord stim) running like this. all i have to do is make it through church tomorrow. then i see ortho monday. ( he figures out whats next and when i get into the OR. tues i have the scs removed. it being a trial.
