Hi all,

Dropped my frigging bike AGAIN! Same side so no more damage thank god. Anyay went for a ride yesteray up the old road (lots of cops!) then to wisemans ferry and back. Really nice day for it. The roads werent that great but I came up Galston gorge on the way home.. WWHHHEEEE!!! Not much good in the corners as alot of hairpins, but it was fun seeing how fast I could get to before slamming on the picks to get around the next corner. Much chuckling inside the helmet. Until I got passed by a 55 BSA! Oh and grandma did the predicatble and pulled out RIGHT in front of me. She didnt even look. But I was ready, as per my license test in the setup position. But did I give here the filthiest look as I went past a 9000rom in second!! Bet she was crapping on about young riders to her equallt aged companions and how back in her day....... Anyways good fun, good burger at Wisemans and excellent weather.
Cheers! :thumb:

Sorry to hear about the bike falling again :(  what happened?
I was also going to head up there yesterday to try out the new wide angle lens and power adapter by the sounds of it ( lotsa cops) glad i didn't.
But I did end up going through the Royal National park, and the lens worked a treat much better footage but the road through there is so bumpy, can only really go through there at about 80k's to be safe.
Good thing Ben & Geoff weren't with me, a bloke on an 1150R came unstuck in a big way I came across his bike leaned up against a tree, front wheel smashed along with the rest of the front end and many scratches and breaks the bloke had been taken away and his friends were looking after the wreck.
Anyway big ride next weekend to Walcha told it will be an 1100km loop in 2 days should be huge but the GS will be the smallest bike there others will be ZZR1100, ZX12, Aprillia Tureno, 3 BMW 1150R's, CBR1100R and an SV650 so this should be interesting.
So after that we plan another get together but probably not the following weekend as I'll probably still be getting over Walcha

Wel,, I was putting her on the center stand on Fri night so I could lube the chain. And I had my helmet etc on but I parked too close to the fence on the left. So im lifting the bike up and felt is start to lean to the right. I stuck my arse out to try and pull her back but got stuck on the fence! Arrgghh! Veeeerrrrryyyyy slowly she went down with me on top.
  Lucky I still had me helmet on! :thumb:  I now know NOT to park so close to the fence! Good news on the lens, bad news on the other rider. I saw somthing like that up the old road a few weeks ago. Bloke had come a cropper off a ZXR or similar. Lots of green plastic around.
Have a great ride! You must have an iron butt dude! And even though your bike witll be the smallest, I know it wont be the slowest! :) Whats up there anyway??? Good roads or excellent beer!

Lukewarm Wilson

Iron Butt supplied by 1986 CBX250 as well Platinum prostate.
The roads up north are the reason,
Putty Road on the way up and the the Thunder bolts on the way back + other smaller ones who's names I cant remeber, great roads nice and smooth with just about every type of band that can be thrown at you. :thumb:

Hey guys back early from the ride.
Everything was going well until Dungog on the Bucketts way when Ben came in to a left hander a little to hot touched the rear brake and the rear over took the front and down he went into a ditch we came around the bend to find him unconsious underneath the Beemer which you can imagine was a bit of a scare  :o  he was out for about 2 minutes and took about a minute to realise where he was when he came too but he seems ok now we ended up riding back home with him because of the damage to his bike and seemed a bit much for him to go on so Geoff and I followed him back home.
All in all the Beemer came out well, broken rear blinker stalk (taped back together) bent handle bars, twist in the fork leg, and a dented rim which was letting air out so we had to get some spray in tyre gunk (which I hate using) and quick fix it with that.
All in all a 600K day and today a feel rooted but good, the good news was I was not the slowest in the group I was running equal 2nd with Ben and the only person quicker then us was a bloke called Tom also on a Beemer 1150R he was QUICK but never out of my sight, I tied myself in knotes trying to keep with him and we were never below 100 except in 60 zones and most of the timewas spent at 130-140 its a lot of fun peeling into a 75K bend at 140. He did get a shock that the bike behind most of the time was a GS500 and gave it and me big raps, I was quite chuffed :) .
Anyway good to hear from you all, cOr nice screen what type is it?
Matt, Muldoon & Panik another ride soon? But not to soon maybe in a fortnight when my body can move again.
600ks + 35years old divided by GS500 = Sore
Forgot to add should of seen the omens for Walcha first we meet at Beerowa Geoff pulls up and drops bike, we ride o Woolimi and Ben gets off and drops bike should have known more was to come
Have a good one and I'll talk to you all soon :thumb:

Hi Folks, any riders near Tamworth looking for a day of riding, let me know. I have recently got my L's so the going will be slow...but ya get that.... happy trails to all...

Muldoon

Hi LWW,

Sorry to hear about Ben abd his lovely bike! Guess it can happen to any of us but I agree it was an auspicious start with the dropped bikes and all. Nice to know it happens to other people. How is Ben now?? How fast was he going when he fell? I guess his gear did the job? I hope he is OK. Say hi and to geoff as well. :thumb:
I knew you wouldnt be last! Damm wish you had the camera on so we could see some fancy riding. Doing double the posted speed is awesome! Well done. Im up for a ride anytime you are. Went for a play up the old road last friday and managed to get the bike to squirm around a bit on the exit of some corners which was fun. Felt alot better about just tipping it in, cracking the throttle and holding on. Anyway let me know how things are with Ben. Bad news dude! :o

Bens Ok now he went for a CAT scan today but the Dr said he was Ok.
He said he hit the dirt at about 20ks after lotsa a braking and can't remember anything once he touched the dirt.
The bike was ridable after the fall but he got a bend in his front rim and a slight bend in the fork leg and other small damage but Im guessing about $1500-$2000 damage ouch. But it says alot for the bike no panel damage and the cylinder heads saved his leg by holding the bike up.
It was a bit of bad luck but unfortantly its a part of riding.
There was some bad news for me though I did take the camera with me but my new wide angle lens rattled of the camera and was lost so there goes $170 for something a got to use twice and I have footage of bens bike in the ditch when I came around the corner I'll make a disk up but not sure he'll want me to show it, he is keeping it secret form his work as they always give him a hard time if he goes down. Yes its not the first time or the second or even the third time he has gone dow,n he is a good rider but sometimes tries to reach to far :nono: .
Hopefully thats something I'll try not to do

To kinetic_horse most of us are in Sydney but you never know when one of may head up that way so keep in touch all from Oz are welcome :thumb:

Hey Panik, good work! That shoul;d be a blast. I expect much peg scraping!
Re the next ride, this weekend Im out but weekend after sounds good. I reckon a run up the putty road, tried to get there this w.end but the rain stopped play. Pissing down in Windsor!

panik

Ok.

Who is available for a ride on:
1. 24-25 July
2. 31 July - 1 August
or
3. 7-8 August

I'm not sure when I'm available yet, but it sounds like next weekend is not on.

The Putty Rd is definately my favoured destination.
And coming back via Wollombi perhaps? I've heard it's good, but has a little bit of dirt (1km?)  :dunno:
We could always get to Putty, then turn around and come back.
Don't Panic.

matt86to
