Hi guys,

I'm converting my '02 into a cafe racer, and i need to rejet it because I'm removing the air box, and changing the pipe, i have read all the rejetting manuals on the gs500 online, but no one is saying anything about the adjustment of the float height.
So the question is- do i need to adjust it, or just leave it stock (Euro '02- 13mm as i recall)?
I know this question is kinda newb, but i have never done rejetting. All the bikes i have restored, were done to stock.

Thanks,
Dima.

No need to alter float height, stock is fine.

Stock is fine - if in an 02 bike you want to still believe it is stock ...
They drift, 89-00 drift a lot, 01-02 drift less. 04-09 drift even less, but they are also much much newer.
Cool.

I don't think any body ever touched the carbs before, people barely servicing theyr bikes here, let alone performing modifications.

I know 2 people that have worked on your floats. Atleast. Gravity and buoyancy. Maybe more ... metal fatigue, maybe young's modulus. Maybe coefficient of friction, maybe wear of rubber when pressed in by metal.

Check it - if its level with the gasket via U tube method, then let it be, else set it to that level.

Cool.
