I searched for a while and couldn't find anything on replacing the fork seals on the newer style 2004+ gs500f

I'm sure is it a similar procedure as the older bikes, but I keep hearing the new style requires a different special tool?
Anyone
Have a photo of the tool or how to make it for the new style forks?

My bike is a 2006

Any help/leads would be appreciated.

Thanks

Are u sure it's the seals and not dirt preventing the seals from working properly....might be worth a small investment first.

I may try scraping them clean, but they both weep oil.

I just want to know what tool I need for these new style forks??
I hear they are different than the old style but no one says what special tool you need for the new forks

I havn't done my seals yet cos mine is 2013,but this guy says it works to 2009 models.Even IF this Special Tool is incorrect i still think the same principal would apply....different size nuts,MAYBE.

If your bike has the Spanish made Paoili  forks........(they have a little round badge on the leg), you need one of these.

Or.......you could just try ramming a broom handle in there like everyone else does.  :thumb:

I used the broom handle method with an impact screwdriver that I could put a hex attachment that I could use on the bolt at the bottom of the fork. 2005 model.
