Hi all,

Riding my bike straight through the winter here in Victoria B.C. and since I got back from a 10 day trip over Christmas I'm having some issues with the bike on my daily commute. First off it starts up fine, idles well no problems there.

The issue comes when i get going and after 4 maybe 5 blocks the bike starts to lose power intermittently until dying maybe a block later. It seems to be running rich at this point as there is some gas coming down the drain from the bottom of the air filter right behind the carbs.

I am considering it might be a fuel mixture issue with the increased cold exacerbating the issue and so might re-jet the carbs. I recently had the needle valves replaced and carbs looked at by a shop after some other issues and the bike was running without these issues up to about Dec. 22 when I left for my Christmas holidays.

Any advice you all can offer would be hugely appreciated as I've only had the bike a few months and am somewhat graspinga t straws here.

Maybe more than one problem.  The fuel dripping seems to be consistent with float level being a bit high.  The bogging down as it warms up and cruising may be a weak coil.  If float level is so high as to bog the bike while cruising, then be sure to check your oil for fuel contamination.
