I am under the impression that both your left leg, and your right leg have problems.
Can you give me an explanation of your left leg issues... and then an explanation of your right leg issues?

Sort it out for me please.
Thanks.

Best to worst.
R ankle just a broken fibula ( distal fib.) repaired at end with a titanium plate and 7 screws if i counted correctly. nothing further as far as i know.
Now the left one lol:
a Tib/fib ankle fracture
broken multiple times. latest was the bottom of the tibia, the main bone in lower leg. ( the shin) it appears smashed into the top of the ankle bone. on xray. the fibula which had appeared as tho it was trying to set itself, had re broken and ankle along with foot is now bent to outside. once i figure out how to get xray copied onto pb acct youll see.what i mean. with this walking to the bathroom no longer allowed. lol   i asked him okaaaaay?, how do you suggest i take care of this? (no answer given). walker not recommended it would force me to hop on r ankle.
So after errand today, im off my feet. EXCEPT for bathroom use. ive no alternative to this.
yet lol.

As of wed. my ortho, being in a pissy mood, course he never was a friendly   person. just stayed on topic. his job is to repair the damage if at all possible. his words, "youre well on your way to lose this ankle. at this point it will NEVER be as it was." the fusion surgery will be the last ditch effort to salvage it. the Mrsa wound has to be gone before this happens. neuro wants this done asap so ankle can be salvaged. he was saying 2 weeks . i handled personal affairs today so i can be lazy ffor forseeable future. although sleeping 15 hrs a day gets old. tending to kill appetite, as does the antibiotic im on. i pill counted myself just now on those. after both pri doc and neuro call letting me know my bloodwork still shows im fighting this with no evidence of weakening. anyhoo last week i was at a +3 on count. figuring amt since fill on 29thpm. at 2 a day i was at +3. should be at 0. 0 means they were taken when they should have. somehow missed 3. today im at a +4 . ill continue at 2 per day and count daily to prevent this from growing. and use till finish.

As of 33 minutes ago, i am now 41yo. this will be a semi relevant update. In 2001 i was living inphoenix attending MMI, my korean roommate dahn said "DUUUUDE you wont make 50" guy was it turned out crazy. i hadnt broke 30 yet. had dahns aim been off a tad, id not have made it home. i purchased a glock 21 from a phoenix pawnshop for 125. then incurred some unforseen school fees. so i sold the glock to dahn. was of age and appeared to not be loopy lol. WRONG lol. i hear a gunshot CLOSE by. i look up theres a hole in my bedroom wall (going thru corner) 2ft above my head. bullet goes thru exterior apt wall into neighboring bldg. it hit nobody thank GOD. but i made contact with neighbors to make sure. anyhoo police were called in morning. i digress i go back in and find Dahn with the glock in his hands trembling and it pointed in my dir. i disarmed him, then asked him calmly what happened, no answer. so i said DUDE WTF . he said he "heard ppl in the airvents moving about and reacted accordingly" after that i called police. they wanted to take him in for psych. i said  since nobody was hurt, can i take him to his parents in suburban LA, I WAS allowed to do this. anyhoooooooo semi relevant because 1 had i not been there at mmi, id not have learned fuel systems on gs500E models. and perhaps id not have ended up a major postwhore here lol. plus had Dahn shot a tad lower, a .45 tends to kill things. to shorten all of this ill say thank GOD for bad aim and no one getting hit. then i lived a rather carefree life. normally not an issue, but as a diabetic, tends to cause problems. Im exhibit A on that one. but after meeting addy and others impressing upon me the importance of eating right, i can always improve Eh?, anyhoo FFWD to now, been thru many GS' but since my ankles are now compromised,  and them not becoming as strong as they were before all of this i cant work on bikes anymore. i cant svc a moto, and have someone else test it. this WONT happen. if somethinghappens, bikes owner sues last person who touched it. Cant take a svc writer job because i cant walk bike to shop. No problem, engine work i can still do. and not void warranties ( HD,Buell , and Suz) but anyhoo can always put the skills to work somehow elsewhere. or i persure watchmakig or something. ( once i get the credentials for rolex and breitling, something i taught myself to repair) can return to being productive. sorry for all of this, but after the incidences beginning in august, and then with the testing and results on monday the 11th, i honestly was considering thinking bad thoughts. considering thinking meaning i was thinking about thinking about said bad thoughts. which i was literally feet from hosp front door. so had thoughts persisted id take care of it. anyways, i overlooked a promise i had made GOD. i realised i was being selfish. temp outsi7de was maybe 20f ppl asked if i was ok, i replied " yeah im good, just digesting the multiple diagnoses ive just recieved" tbh i wasnt cold anyways. wearing insulated wranglers. LOVE those things. really no way to improve bone health as it is, But i can make the best of it. if i keep trying to eat right and such, i can slowly build up  some of the bone issues. the staph in back at surgical site, and Mrsa in leg, i was in wrong place at wrong time. just about everyone has staph on body in some way. most dont know it because they dont get ill.
i guess my immune system was taxed as it was, first surgery i ever had was day before Pat died. :(, been in wound care in some way shape or form for a long while. so ive given staph a decent chance of taking root by taxing myy immune system. i never got sick, hardly ever. BUT im thinking i overlooked minor things. in a normally healthy body arent an issue. but in my case well, lol we see Eh?.
will finish this monster update in next post. i do apologise for length of these posts. maybe once its all finished, ill copy it, and shorten it. lol. meh ill finish it in this post. :)
With the Mrsa/staph infection, it can affect the bone healing by itself. bone health not figured in. before the now REQUIRED fusion procedure can happen, the Mrsa must be cleared out. neuro said 2 weeks. may be able to postpone it a bit. but if bone det. much more i lose ankle. BUT if so ill also lose the mrsa infection. it appears to be confined to the medial malleolus. (the bottom end of tibia and now ankle bone too) if i stay off of it, and figure out how to get to bathroom sans foot use, ill be able to slow down FX progression enough to kill infection and have fusion procedure done. ONCE this is done, i will be at a MINIMUM 6mos in a cast. which freaked out my ortho. his words " your body and casts dont play nice together" however casts in this case are necessary. i told neuro i said if i MUST have this done and be casted, will have to ask for weekly changes. unless something says check sooner, like pain from a wound. this is what happened to an extent with cast on R ankle. pressure ulcer half under cast, in sept. They said we can get you in monday, however if you feel the need to go in sooner, go to the ER. THAT TURNED out to be the right choice. er ppl said had i delayed to monday, possibly could hve been lethal. it got into blood already. but non staph afaik. ANYHOO lol. current situation blows. not able to work, even t hough i want to. all of this may keep me out of workforce perm. Either way, ill be out of commission conservatively for a year. they figure. SOOOOO, im not entirely useless, can always sell on ebay while recovering, or persuing disability. after which can always volunteer my time in some way. Anyways Enough for a monster update which i promised id not post any more of. after this ill do best to keep them shorter. i guess just laying out plan on day 1 of year 41 of my life :). i do promise once i get net turned back on i will correct any grammatical and spelling errors.

I guess after the fractures, the risk of infection in the bones is a paramount concern.
(osteomyelitis) many of its symptoms ive already got. i.e. the rapid heart rate, >100bpm, bone pain as well as occasional fever. along with lower BP AT times. but then again body is engaged in multiple fights at same time. many of which will cause these issues. the med. my prim. doc gives me to slow rate down also lowers BP. IF low to begin with taking med can be risky. or i figure out a way to raise bp without raising HR. baah ill let the collection of docs figure that out. seriously i feel this collection of ppl would know when ill fart before i would. If i can with their help, knock out 1 issue, it would help out in knocking out remaining issues 1 by one. :), then i work on climbing out of this hole im in. i just turned 41, ive plans to go far beyond that. :)
Will update again later today. doc-wise, i meet with minimed ppl to set up insulin pump. (Yay, been looking forward to this, still have to reach the SCS ppl there to figure out what to do with leftover parts post explant.) but the pump will help immensely. then wed. is wound care. get that knocked out i can proceed sooner with required surgeries. and THEN can focus on rebuilding/reconstructing myself :)
Anyhyoo no more monster updates. ive covered everything. if any downturns ill keep it short if possible. but monster posts will be rare :). anyhoo will update daily. hadnt checked weight today. will do later.

Heres a semi hypothetical question and request for ideas/advice:
Since i co-own and Co-habitate the home mom left us after her passing, And as of the 11th it still shows infection being active, ive adopted a strict hands off policy. even tho doc says risks to others is minimal. ( i practice good hygiene) my immune sys. took a severe beating. rebuilding will take a while. theres getting staph off of skin using either hibiclens or a bleach bath.. ( sounds harsh lol but it isnt.) anyhoo, father does NOT  want me to do my own laundry. since it involves 2 round trips on a flight of stairs. i however respectfully insisted neither he nor anyone else handle my laundry. i CAN crab crawl up and down stairs safely. ive got 1 a hind end, 1 semi solid ankle err fairly solid. the one with plate repair. and 2 hands. since weight being for now is absolutely forbidden on the bad ankle, does this seem logical? seems to be only choice. i had asked him to place my walker in basement and leave it there. i can use it to support self while standing. and keeping weight off L ankle. i dont want to risk his health . the stairs crab crawl seems best option. ive a drawstringlaundry bag so the clothing can be placed inside it and thrown downstairs. once washed by me, he can bring it up safely. Thoughts or suggestions?

Well probably going to postpone insulin pump usage. ins wont cover the humalog (eli lilly mfg) or novolog (novo-nordisk) they consider it " experimental" still experimental after nearly 2 decades? it basically is an EXTREMELY  short acting insulin. nothing more. peaking in 15 mins. but OTC price at 400? not happening. only way id beable to do it is raiding docs office for samples. realistically would have to build a 3mo stockpile to make it happen. anyhoo will have pharm. call doc monday to find a resolution. meantime ill remain on current insulins. 400 is rediculous. (course the antibiotics are obscenely high as well. at 100 per dose x2 a day x 28 days. but no choice there. but the insulin otoh it can wait.

It always takes loooonger than we are prepared to acknowledge.

Sounds like he knows what he is talking about.

Admit to yourself that you can't do that at this time.

No, it doesn't.

Thoughts or suggestions?
Take care of yourself and be extra - extra careful till everything stabilizes, and a couple months after too.

Oh yeah:

DOCTORS ADVISE. HEED IT.

Very true. lol. if i however can do it myself safely id rather not risk his health. oddest feeling today. chest felt ice cold, yet no issue breathing and no fever. unless the sh*t hits the fan i wont bother docs. idk.guess its best i take it easy. dont forsee a problem. just an oddity at this point.

Need to eat, bathe, poop, pee, and have access to clean laundry, food, etc...
Being completely immobile would require live-in nurse & maid services.
Incredibly expensive. <sigh>  :icon_sad:

I understand the difficulty here.

Yama:

If I recall correctly you broke a bone basically just turning wrong while moving very slowly.
BOTH ankles are broke.

Considering that, lets get to the laundry part.

1:
Quotefather does NOT  want me to do my own laundry. since it involves 2 round trips on a flight of stairs.
2:
Quotesince weight being for now is absolutely forbidden on the bad ankle,
3:
Quotei CAN crab crawl up and down stairs safely.
4:
Quote. i had asked him to place my walker in basement and leave it there. i can use it to support self while standing. and keeping weight off L ankle.

1 & 2 seem to make all of the argument needed to negate doing 3 & 4 because I do NOT believe 3 & 4 are possible without excessively high likelihood of further serious damage to lower legs.

The rest of the things Jake mentioned are in a whole different risk class than going up and down stairs multiple times just to wash clothes that
Quoteonce washed by me, he can bring it up safely.

My primary concern in this is the high risks in going up and down flights of stairs with impaired balance and stability, when someone already sharing the dwelling and environment (which means exposure to any viruses or bacteria extant there) is apparently ready willing and able to take on that relatively minor activity for you.

I didn't mean to suggest complete immobility, just try and stay stable and on level ground (or floors as needed.  ;) ) as much as possible.

yamahonkawazuki

R  ankle seems to be fine. L one has re fractured multiple times. soon as i can post it, ill post the one from christmas hosp. visit and the one on jan 11. bone issues also dignosed on the 11th.  the staph in back and mrsa on L ankle FX THEMSELVES  im overdoing it when i say hands off. however   risk is there if a person touches either wound sans washing afterwards. fathers nearly 70. i just dont want to be responsible for getting him ill if it can be avoided. Ill figure an alternative for laundry. to negate risk for him. my immune system took a thrashing around christmas. will be a job to repair/rebuild, but hey ive got time. lol :)

Agreed.
Yama's fragility does indeed create a challenge.
The fact that he's been able to maintain his psyche thus far is rather impressive too.
Personally, I would have cracked long ago.

In hindsight, with the Hosp infection, i blame myself. i fault no one.. ppl here along with friends and family suggested i postpone the spinal cord stim. implant surgery until AFTER the fractures heal. had i listened, most of this mess id not be in right now. i pushed forward tho cause i was tired of the neuropathic pain in legs. i read about the device, i studied EVERYTHING, got every pdf there was on it. WHAT i didnt think about though, was that freq. surgeries tax ones immune system. as do injuries. had 1 surgery in sept. at that point. plus a fracture in L ankle. common sense plus friends here as well as family told me to wait.
my taxed already immune system then gets hit twice nearly at same time. Mrsa in ankle, and normal staph inf. at surgical site in back. it nearly killed me. ankle inf. seems to be healing. back however, keeps filling a pocked with fluid. albeit SLLLLLOOOOOOOOWLY. i see neuro in a week, hell drain it.
2 goals for the 41st year of my life. well 3 or 4.
1 survive this. ( i know i will, just wished body recovered quicker.
2 make it to year 42
3 to use this downtime to work on not being impatient.
(cause it seems me being an iMpatient person has caused me to be an iNpatient person.)
4 succesfully heal from this and everything, and survive to 50 and beyond.
Please just remind me to SLOW  down . i dont see me having that Spinal cord device reimplanted. Minimed rep  wont return my calls. if she doesnt this week, ill   write their corp ppl. just want to ask them what do i do with the remote and the charger for the implant. no use for it. the case that stuff came in is NICE however. i may keep it for camera case. ANYHOO  im sorry im rambling yet again.
I just ask if you see me being impatient, tell me to SLOW down.
Maybe ill use this downtime to work on my drawing or writing or something idk.
Aaron.
lol i may pull a snip excercise on this thread one day. as a writing excercise. editing out everything but the updates themselves. id say thread would reduce itself in size 75%.
ive plans to post this as a blog outside gstwin. will do that once i get home net set up. got ALOT of time to work on healing and recovery with ultimate goal of returning to work. provided i SLOW down lol.

Three things come to mind. . .

1.) You're an early riser.

2.) Bullet item number three in your post is my favorite; "3 to use this downtime to work on not being impatient".

3.) It snowed last night. It looks cold and miserable outside.

OOPs ,
the antibiotic has some dietary restrictions. hell not some,  but ALOT.
basically have to adhere to a tyramine free diet. ( a preservative) which is in MOST  things. even hot dogs.
beef is ok tho, or dangerously high bp could be result. tbh
heres the ironic thing. yogurt is frowned upon yet allowed
i guess i found the cause of the random headaches. lol. COURSE i did need to eat better anyways. but DAMN no cheeses :( no aged cheeses. that blows.
