Selling my 96 GS500E.

Purchased it from the second owner in July 2015. He owned it for 10 years and maintained it meticulously. It's still in the excellent shape from when I bought it.

So below I'll share the details:
- All maintenance, inspection records from 2002
- Chassis has 20641 miles and the engine has exactly 10K less (10641). Original motor developed a spun rod bearing so I swapped in another one.
- 15-tooth JWT front sprocket (OEM is 16-tooth).
- Rear sprocket replaced in 2013 along with an EK SRX Quadra X-Ring chain.
- Avon RoadRider tires with EBC HH brake pads.
- Sonic front springs
- Will come with the original motor laying around which has a good clutch, CCT, Transmission, etc. The plastic engine covers are in better condition too.

Extras Included:
- Haynes manual
- Stock mirrors
- "Buddha" Jet kit from GStwin forums
- Spare handlebar
- Emergency tool kit
- Two keys

Things to note:
- Previous owner dropped it at 5MPH after installing new tires. Only the muffler is scuffed up.
- Rear brake pads should be replaced.
- Small dent and scratches where the tank bag sits.

The GS has been a very reliable and fun bike to own. It starts up without hesitation, warms up quickly, and packs a punch at high RPMS. Easily rides the highway and is flickable due to its light weight.

It is very cheap to own and maintain (I paid $118 for yearly insurance!).

Price is $1800 OBO. Test rides allowed with present motorcycle license.

Oh no! Why are you selling, Sal?
Superbike bars, '04 GSXR headlight & cowl, DRZ signals, 1/2" fork brace, 'Busa fender, stainless exhaust & brake lines, belly pan, LED dash & brake bulbs, 140/80 rear hoop, F tail lens, SV650 shock, Bandit400 hugger, aluminum heel guards & pegs, fork preload adjusters, .75 SonicSprings, heated grips

Sal_the_man

Changed my mind and decided to keep it for longer. Still have my eyes set on a Triumph Speed Triple 955i, but the GS does everything well. Plus it's fun!

Dude dont allow test rides with license. I have had 2 clowns crash on the test ride.
One clown left in an ambulance. The other one had paid me prior to the ride so he took the crashed SV as well as his crashed A$$ home in his truck.
Cool.

Buddha that's a really good point... I mean, ya want to show that the bike is running right, working properly but there certainly are crazies out there!!!

You mean with or without a license? Suppose I should only allow with cash in hand then

Allowing test rides are risky.  Guard yourself against theft and also call your insurance company and ask them how to protect yourself in the case that they crash your bike and damage something or hurt someone.  If i understand correctly if someone damages property or injures someone in/on your vehicle you are liable.

Sal_the_man

I see what you're saying. I'll look into it then.

On a different note, there's a 955i that popped up in the area. So this ad will still remain posted.

Price IS negotiable :)
