Anybody have a STOCK or closest stock equivalent muffler they want to trade for a Yoshimura muffler off the Basket Case? It looks to be in fair condition, but when the chowder-head previous owner installed it, they made a terrible mess, didn't align it properly, and now its in the way of the center-stand! >:(

I'm willing to carefully remove it from my bike and ship it to whomever want to trade a normal muffler for it.

Its great for other bikes with a larger-diameter exhaust pipe or anyone with more shill than me at exhaust work. I just want it gone!

Please PM me if interested!

Is that the only problem ?
That muffler is retardedly long.
I know, I have one too.
Thankfully mine was flanged to fit right - as right as a trioval meant for a 2003 GSXR 1K can fit I guess.
Yours isn't 1/2 bad.
You can shape that piece of flat bar ... or engrave it or do something cool with it.
Cool.

If I was going to keep it, I'd cut it off and have a proper adapter put on and move it further forward so it clears everything properly!  :icon_rolleyes:

You will probably get the most $ for it on eBay.  That isn't going to be a lot of money, but it can help offset the cost of a new muffler.

I got mine from ryca.com and I like it.

Ok. . . I didn't really want any money for it, just to swap, but ok.

I sometimes fail at reading comprehension but I did realize your goal is to get a stock exhaust, not necessarily money.  I offered that advice because it might take a long time to find someone who wants to make this specific trade.

Also the stock muffler was sawed off your bike, there is no place to detach the muffler from the exhaust.  I think you should remove that Yoshi and try to measure out how much of the exhaust tubing you need in addition to the muffler.  If you get a muffler that had been sawed off with only a couple inches of exhaust tubing attached you might need to have a muffler shop fabricate a section of exhaust tubing.  I'm not sure how difficult or expensive that is.

With the money from selling the Yoshi muffler you might be able to find a whole stock exhaust and avoid the trip to the muffler shop.  You would have to bring the motorcycle to the muffler shop so they can weld the parts together with proper fitment and hope they don't make it too too ugly.  Going to the muffler shop means loading the bike onto a truck and spending an afternoon hanging out at a muffler shop.

Idk, I guess it's all a trade-off.

No problem, man. It happens. :)
I have a welding shop by my house, so when its running I'll take it over to them to explore my options.
