I had a friend who thinks this way. still a friend, but whenever hed tell me what he says its worth, id say " sure if it were new, and NEVER sold. yet everything you sell has more miles on it than a broadway whore. and broken in some way shape or form. ;) known the guy since 1988 when i came here from chicago and he from cali. hes the same guy i traded my last gs to for a chevy pickup. then repurchased it from him for 50. he tried to get 3 grand from me for it. guess he was a tad pissy about the trucks battery. walmart ended up giving me a free battery due to a defect lol. AND 50 bux to boot.
this was the gs i owned twice lol.

Ah! LOL!

Those kind of people are the worst! I had a once-friend who was like that. . . :2guns:
The worst is the idiot "friend" who thinks he can fix anything, but instead starts to work on it, breaks it more, gets frustrated, then leaves you stranded.
I lost a very nice 1985 Mercedes Benz 380SE to that friend. . . he trashed the entire fuel system by dumping sea-foam into the several-month old gas sitting in the tank, thus clogging everything. I lost a huge amount of money on that car, and had to sell it for almost nothing. . . :2guns:
Aside from that particular event, there's a bunch of other reasons of a similar sort that resulted in him no longer being my friend. :flipoff:

I wouldn't let him fix a door's hinge!

i got the bike back in the same condition. the truck decided to fall apart. BUT thanks to a lady who decided drive AT NIGHT sans lights, got 1200 for it. 50 for a new battery that gs, got me around for quite a while longer. the rest paid for next vehicle. this was late 2008 early 2009. plus since i left the truck parked at workplace awaiting insurance tow off i was able to pull the gel cell battery out of it, and sell that also. was amazing the amount of damage her 'yota minivan did to that full size truck lol. ill have to find the pic on my pb acct and show it to ya.

Any vehicle can do damage if driven fast enough with enough sh*t in it. . . :icon_lol:

What you need Yama ... is an Italian grandmother as motive power! ... you know those pictures you see sometimes... old woman dressed in black with a huge bundle of something or other on her back... trundling away! ... or pushing a cart laden with fresh veggies to market....

Some of those grannies have power you could measure on a dyno!

Get yourself a rickshaw type setup and get the old girl pedalling! ;) .... Bahahaha!

There are many older folk from all countries of course that have strong peasant blood in them..... I said Italian granny cos they are also amazing cooks that can make a man weep in thanks at the taste of the meal! ;)

Since Toledo Jim decreed that this thread cannot die, I present to you a rant/bitching session:

Why is it so F*cking hard to get a decent job these days?!? Seriously! I'm in an employment dead-zone! Unless I want to work part-time at a gas station, I have almost no choices available! There are no motorcycle dealers hiring near me, and if they are, they want an endorsement, which I don't have yet! :2guns:

If I had the money, I'd open my own motorcycle shop, but 1) there's nothing out where I live that would warrant a shop, and 2) my credit is a train-wreck of poor choices!

The fabrication shop around the corner said they'd hire me, and that I'd start Friday, but that was two weeks ago, and they're still waiting on jobs to get un-f*cked so I can start working! Its seriously p*ssing me off!

I can't afford to get my bike on the road if this situation doesn't improve soon!!!

Hupjai

Referring to motorcyclist being decent people:

I feel like in most cases of any community, it's always the minority ruining the reputation of the majority. I've only been riding for 2 years but I've always been felt welcomed by and had pleasant experiences with motorcyclist that have taken time to interact with me! The usual SF Bay Area squids and clearly obnoxious with personality complexes or just make poor decisions in general give me and others a bad reputation. So far and for the most part, it's been great and I think that this forum is about the epitome of how a forum should be conducted.

Y'all are fantastic and I'm sorry I only mini-ranted about jerk motorcyclist.

ShowBizWolf

I agree with you Hupjai, it seems that most riders I know and most that I've met at random are nice and down to earth. But ya always have those people with egos the size of the universe or ones that do super-dickbagish things on the road and it's like ugh STOP now jeez.

I love this forum too.  :D
