Well, yes & no.

My wife is taking her MSF Safety Course in early May.
She keeps going on & on about how she only wants a 250.
Straight up told her Nope!
You're getting a GS500  :D

So once she passes the course.
We will be on the lookout for a bike (an E, not an F tho)

Of course I plan to ride it now & then too :D

& it royally F'ing sucks on what happened to Patrick.
I read that awhile ago :(

& for those who forgot about me.
Since all my photos in my old build thread are gone.

Before

After

After trading the GS for an 87 Honda Super Magna (kept a thread here for a little while.
Spent like $5000 restoring, upgrading, & customizing it.

Before

After

My need for speed was too much for the bike & sold it a few months after finishing it.
Then bought a 1996 GSXR 1100!!!

Still my favorite bike, even though I didnt ride it long.
Was consuming 1 QUART of oil in 100 miles when I tested it!
Absolutely No idea where it was going as it wasnt burning & I found NO leaks!

Shortly after getting it.
My Girlfriend got pregnant with my son.
$$ was tight & there was a TON of brand new high end parts on it.
So I parted it out.
But still have the clean titled frame & a few body parts left.
I will rebuild her one day~!!!

April 8th 2014 My son was born  :woohoo:

Was still unemployed because of family health issues if anyone remembers
My mom has Huntingstons disease (brain is rotting, to put it bluntly)
& my sisters stage 4 breast cancer came back.
and she passed away only 2 Weeks before my son was born :(

Back against the wall, so I started hunting for a well paying job.
Then I recalled how I wanted to get into the postal service!

Took the test & had an interview within a month!
Postmaster at that office decided prior to hire the one with the highest score.
& that guy had HALF a Point higher then me!!!

So she got me an interview & hired in another office.

Started there June 14th 2014 as a NON career mail carrier.
& then on Dec 26th 2015 I was promoted to Career Level Mail Carrier  :woohoo:

January 2015 me & the girlfriend (now wife) was trying for a Girl & be done with kids......
Months later she went in for the scan while I was at work.
Calls me up mid route..... TWIN BOYS!  :icon_eek:  :icon_eek:
Almost lost my sh!t in a good way! hahaha

Got married June 8th 2015

& they were born September 15th 2015  :woohoo:

Feb 2015 tho, with a little bit of my income tax.
I bought a 1999 Suzuki TL1000S with just shy of 15K miles for only $2300!!

Just needed the regular maintenance & the first valve adjustment.
Thats when all hell broke loose!

Not going into details.
But it took me ELEVEN friggin MONTHS to finally fix the witch!!!
& an additional $2500 into upgrades / addons.

& now I cant ride until the end of April, because my registration got suspended for 3 months.
Because I dropped my insurance....
Why have insurance on a bike that isnt road worthy????............  :cookoo:

& here is my family seeing the Easter bunny today at the mall.

So thats it.

I'll be on here, but even more when I buy the wife a GS500.

I remember you!! It's great to see ya back.

I really enjoyed following your thread on the Honda bike as it went along... I remember checking for updates on it often. You polishing what seemed like every last bit of that thing...

Congrats on so much of your life accomplishments!!!  :star: and that is a really cool picture of you and the fam

Yeah man we remember ya. that super magna brought back some memories. helped a friend restore one to operable shape. looked identical to yours to boot. my condolences on your loss :"( she would outgrow the ninjette before the first ride though. and finally you COULD grab an F convert to an E, selling off the plastics to offset the cost a tad ;). speaking of gixxers, helped another friend get a snake eyes 1k going. FINALLY Convinced him with a bag of cat litter that a spliced oil line was NOT good . was funny though. took him quite a while to get oil off his cage after line let go again.

thanks :)

I'm not so sure on the Super Magna being identical to my end result tho.
A TON of work & money went into that AFTER all of the polishing!
Just cant see it all in one photo.
About the only thing I Didnt do, was drop the engine & take her to a bare frame.
(GS's are FAR easier to do that to!)

speaking of which.
heres all the photos of the work on the Super.

The current TL1000S has a good amount of $$ into it but its mostly major repairs & upgrades to the internal workings.
Was three culprits costing me 11 months to work on it RIGHT AFTER buying it~!!
I literally got ONE ride on it while it was still acting up.

Was misfiring like MAD thanks to the...
ECU
Airbox sensor
and a whole SLEW of wiring issues because a gas line got crimped & leaked a full tank of gas all over the harness.
So a good amount of gas was trapped inside the harness for Months without me knowing~!
Replaced every sensors wiring & connectors.

I did everything possible to the throttle bodies & injectors (cleaned, new parts, etc)
updated some wiring to the charging system & headlights (less strain on the main harness)

new exhaust header gaskets & new front cylinder piston rings

External & cosmetic.
Tires
SS brake lines & new pads.
reflective rim tape
rear hugger
Yoshi bolt ons
Bitubo rear shock conversion (stock setup is a known flaw that some believe & others protest its fine)
windscreen
levers
red engine bolt kit
new fork seals & oil
airbox mods, K&N filter, & wrapped the airbox in heat resistant tape.
probably a few others im forgetting, its late & im bored :D

& just ordered a new fork cap assembly (dropped it on its top after replacing fork seals)
it ruined the setting knob
upgraded fork springs

& just purchased a new set of sprockets & chain since the one on there is the original set & chain!

Learned a TON more about bikes with this TL!
Since its the most electrical & first fuel injected bike I've owned.

& all I can say is...  :2guns: I HATE FUEL INJECTED BIKES!!!

& nah on the F purchase & convert it.
A. they are more expensive by Usually $1000+++ more
& B. if I bought her an F, she wouldnt want the fairings off.
Then that would be even More parts I would have to paint.
unless they were flawless but she WILL drop her first bike.
hell I lost count on how many times I dropped my old GS!
Luckily all but One were dropped in the grass because it was damp & my foot slid.

If the bike we buy her is beat up.
I will be repainting it like I did to my old bike.
Probably Pink or Pink & Black, so I will be stuck only working on it as I wont ride a Pink bike!
If the original paint hasnt been touched & in Good condition, I refuse to touch it unless she damages it!
(original paint in good condition is worth more $$$)

& Jr sitting on my bike earlier today.
