Can anyone tell me if these dogbone links are stock?

I am trying to find out if these dogbones are stock. If I switch the bolt to the lower hole the bike lowers a full 2 inches. I do not want it lower, I am trying to raise the tail, and I cannot find out if where it is now is a stock height. I would like to order new dogbones that will raise the tail but I am not sure which ones or how high to go, especially not knowing if the ones I have now are a stock or lifted height. Thanks!

Stock links are 7 1/16" between hole centers , made of steel, and only one hole at each end.  Those are aluminum aftermarket links.

407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.

Great, thank you! Now, can you tell which brand? I tried googling the numbers and nothing really came up. The bike is about 32 inches from the floor to the brake light,on the highest notch. Are there any kits that raise the rear more or is that just about the most?

I don't know if this will help any but... I went and measured from the floor up to the brake light on my GS and it's at 32" as well... the only thing on my bike that would mess with the tail height in relationship to the floor is the bigger rear tire.

Based on that, I can't imagine it not being possible to raise the tail even more..? Hopefully the others will reply soon with more help and info !!

Thank you! So, Im thinking maybe the previous owner put lowering links in and realized that the 2 inch drop was way too much and maybe that link has a stock height option and a 2 inch drop option. I swore the rear looks a little higher than the stock ones Ive seen in pictures but maybe not. I really like the look of the jacked up rear "street fighter" look. These are probably lowering links that just aren't on the low setting. I put them on the other notch and it lowered 2 inches and looked horrible to me. Thank you for measuring your bike.

Another question, What size tire do you have? Do you have any pictures? I really don't like the size of my stock rear tire but I don't want to fabricate, cut, and weld to fit a big tire on it. Any suggestions??  :dunno_black:

I have a 140/80 on the back and I didn't have to modify or change anything at all. I love it. And you are totally welcome for the info, it was no problem

Here is the best picture of the tire I have right now:

WOW, that looks SO much better than mine. You purchased the tire and brought it to the shop for them to put it on the rim and that was it?? What size front tire do you have? Also, brand name? Sorry for all the questions!

Hallo!
I got 35mm jack up kit on mine. Its the highest jack up kit bones you can get for the gs500.
I just bought it from a store in Germany on Ebay for about 18 EURO.

Hey, Thanks for the reply. Can you send me the link to the seller who is selling this kit please. Also, did you do anything to the front or just leave it stock height? My front is lowered a tad, I really just want to raise the tail. Thanks in advance.

Also, do you have any other pictures of your bike with the lift kit?

I have not lowered the front. I have done progressive front springs, thats it.
I bought this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171787923769 and my GS is from 1994, He has for other years also, just search his shop.

I have collectet the best pictures that shows the whole bike, all with the jack up bones.

@b00stin... I normally work on my vehicles myself or with my dad at his garage... but last spring when I was super busy with work and my car and my house, etc, I took my bike to get inspected at the normal place I go... and since I needed a new tire I told him to surprise me  :D  (I've dealt with him in the past so this wasn't just a random thing LOL)... It's a Michelin Pilot Activ. Glad you like it!!!

My front tire is stock size... nothing exciting there  :icon_razz:

@Marcus... still loving your pics :-D

I've run 110/70, 110/80, 120/70 front and 130/70, 130/80, 130/90, 140/70, 140/80, 150/60, 150/70 rear tires on my GSs on the stock 3.0 and 3.5" wheels.  All of the tires I've run have been fitments approved by the tires maker except the 150/60 rear.  I've run bias, bias belted, and radial tires.  No alterations are required to the bike for any of these sizes on stock wheels except the 150/60 and 150/70 which come close to or touch the brake rod and may require bending the rod a bit.

Tires I've run on my 97 and 02 GSs:
