12v Battery reads ~11v without load, and 9v under starter load. Replace?

It ignites, but I'd hate to be stranded. This is a YUASA 12v lead. Would you replace it, and if so, with what? I see folks liking gels...

Electrolyte levels normal? If yes, replace ASAP. If not, add distilled water, then recheck.
That voltage is waaaaay below normal.

Ride it like a 2 stroke:
1: Rev high
2: Add oil
3: Repeat

They were a bit low, so I added more distilled water and put it on the tender. Checked it again when I got a solid green light, now I get a bit more than 12v. That's as high as it will go. Is it supposed to be higher? Im using analogue meter

Static voltage is only an indicator. What matters is how much current it can deliver under load and for how long.............it needs load testing  :thumb:

This is true...go to Advance Auto with the battery...they will test it for free and give an analysis of why it is bad, if it is bad...or a "pass"..

But a fully charged lead acid battery...just off the charger..should read above 13 volts...(maybe as low as 12.8)  at least for a while.  12 volts indicates a "discharged" battery...less than 12 means trouble...

You mentioned that at one point it was below 9 volts?   This indicated a bad battery IMHO...

But the only way to be sure is to do an official test.

Yuasa is a decent enough brand.
Depends on it's age and how fast it still cranks, but if i was concerned i'd still have it tested.
When i buy a used bike/car/anything with a battery, and don't know the batteries history i always buy a new/top grade replacement........i hate doubts.

If fully charged and reading under 12-13 volts you most likely have a dead cell.
