I want to order a new pillion handle and gas tank from this web site. Bikebandit.com, they have the OEM schematics online but since I have only NEEDED suspension components up to this point I have never ordered anything from there "painted." Has any one else used the services of this website? What color parts would I expect if I were to order a fuel tank and grab handle?
Any speculations? I know I may get quite a few, but I believe they have Suzuki part #'s in the lists, any insiders? I know that my '95 came purple but there were 4 different tank part #'s online here...

I don't know about fuel tank colors, but the prices on this Ron Ayers page range from $403.34 to $477.73.

The Ron Ayers site displays actual Suzuki part numbers, but I don't think BikeBandit does anymore.  You may want to call up Ron Ayers (or a Suzuki dealership) and have them check the colors on the various part numbers listed on that Ron Ayers page.

While you're at it, check the dealer's price.  Who knows?  You may actually get a better deal from the dealership on a big-ticket item like this...?

Otherwise, you can always try to be patient and wait for the right-colored tank to come along in the For Sale forum or on eBay, etc.  $400+ is a lot to pay for ANYTHING!  

The parts that come from bikebandit (or any other parts supplier) are factory OEM parts and almost always come completely finished and ready to bolt onto the bike, just like on the assembly line.  The only difference might be that sometimes the stickers/graphics are considered a separate part.

To get the right color grab rail & tank, all you need do is find the appropriate year.

I normally won't bad mouth anyone but in this case I'll make an exception.  After my wife dropped my GS, I needed a brake lever , bar end and engine cover on the right side.  I used BikeBandit.  It took over two weeks for them to ship the parts.  If your in a hurry I would check with your dealer.  

Next issue.  The engine cover they sent was black.  I have a '99. (grey engine)  They would not respond to my Emails to exchange it.  "It is the only listing they had for that bike" .  They wanted a 20% restocking fee and I would have to pay for return shipping.  You can imagine what I told them.  I don't consider myself a demanding customer.  Good luck to you.  I plan to try Ron Ayer's in the future.

And, bikebandit.com has NO PHONE #. That's not "user friendly" at all. I couldn't even find a # for them searching on-line yellow pages. I go elsewhere for parts. Chaparral can be slow if they have to order them, but they carry OEM Suzuki parts too.

There is also //www.ronayers.com, located in Greenville, NC. I have bought online from them before with no problems. Generally quick shipping on the east coast. They also have an 800 number listed on there site.

Yeah, Bikebandit takes a while but my last few projects I was in no rush. I am thinking ahead to the winter with this one, rusty tank, flaking paint off of grab handle.  BB said the tank will come either black or white no decals, the handle like stock, these are suziuki parts so I guess all OEM dealers would be the same colors. Thanks for the feedback guys. I guess I am just price shopping now. On the GSTWin forum probably!

www.ronayers.com is indeed the best one I have dealt with thus far.  They have everything!  EAsy to find part numbers in the fiche section too.
