Having a few issues with sourcing gauges, bracket and outer cover for my 02 GS500, looking through other forums or other places such as the GS500 group on Facebook, i would like to know that if I can't source Suzuki genuine parts, is it at all possible to fit dash cluster off a Honda CB500 onto it instead. I know it's a good idea to keep it original but it's hard to find original parts, any help will appreciated.

Hi KiwiGS, welcome to the forum !

I am not sure about the Honda dash cluster but are you searching for only used parts?

If so, be sure to check out the For Sale/Wanted section on here (if you haven't already). Parts bikes appear pretty frequently! Also it couldn't hurt to post a Want to Buy thread in there and list exactly the parts you're looking for and where you're located.

eBay is also a good place, I was just looking up GS OEM gauges/dash parts last week and turned up a few results.

If looking for new stuff, there are a few sites but the one I like most is motosport.com... they usually have 20% off OEM parts and (like other sites) have the parts diagrams which can be very helpful.

Good luck !!

I have a set of gauges I don't need, the harness was cut about 15cm below the gauge set so you would need a bit of wiring/changing/soldering maybe? ... I'm in NSW Australia so shipping to NZ might not be too hideous...

Ill check what shipping might be if you like... what town you in? ...

If it's reasonable we could work out a fair cost for the gauges!

Kiwi, I'm assuming your original tach is cable driven? I think they switched to electronic tach in 2004..... either way, the tach ratio from a Honda might not be the same as what's on your GS, and would give a false reading of engine speed. The speedo "shouldn't" be a problem, but the tach probably would be.

Hi Janx, I'm in Feilding, I'm wanting to keep original speedo, looking for tacho as my one I have now is a bit damaged, also looking for plastic outer cover that the gauges sit in as my current one is held together by electrical tape, I do check motosport.com a lot but that will be reserved for when I start working again in next few weeks.
