Replace the black cover? What would that be called?

I don't know what to do, it's barely leaking. If you can see that little black blob towards the left corner that's the source. Would appreciate some guidance as to what I should do. Cheers.

That black cover just hides the starter motor.  Oil won't come from there.

The oil leak is probably where the bottom of the cylinders meet the top of the engine case.  You can try retorqueing the head nuts, I did that on my motorcycle and it helped.

The leak might be coming from the timing chain tensioner.  It is a thing that sticks off the cylinders, above that oil leak, about half way up.  They can leak from the gasket or also from the end, I think, where there is a small plastic cover looking thing.

Lucas is right - there are many areas that leak can be coming from, so you'll need to figure out exactly where it's leaking. Clean off the current leak, top off your oil level, and take it for a ride, and let us know where it's coming from.

As I said I'm a noob so I'll need a visual attachment to this "bottom of the cylinders meet the top of the engine case", to actually know where to look.

If it is coming from the bottom of the cylinders then what are the options? Same question for the timing chain tensioner.

Alright, I'll get on that.

In your photo the thing with the fins are the cylinders.  The smooth thing under it is the engine case.

You should do an Internet search for the service manual and look up how to torque the head nuts.

Forgot to update this, but there actually was no oil leak. A few days before I had to replace a blown gasket on the crankcase side I am like 90% sure the oil just flowed over somehow while riding with the oil leak. There is no oil any more after cleaning.
