Just wondering what you guys are using for grips. Mine are stock, but I am considering changing them out to something more comfortable. As an avid mountain biker, I always put Oury grips on my mountain bikes. I see Oury makes motorcycle grips as well. I bet they are pretty comfy. Kind of tempting

I wish with all my 'custom stuff' posts lately I could say I have these crazy cool grips on my GS!!! But I don't haha... I just have the plain stock ones.

Now on my bmx bike I have Fiend Team grips, gum color, flanged and they are really comfortable.

Hope some other people reply to this, I'd be curious to see the different grips out there 

I use these Renthal grips.  They have a low profile flange, they look cool, are comfortable, are grippy, high quality, durable, and to top it off they are cheap!

That is my preferred grip style as well. Can't get renthals here so far. I use MTB lock on grips of that pattern and style for the left but no one makes a lockon that will fit a throttle tube. Still looking.

I normally like the medium renthals myself but at the moment I'm gonna be honest I'm running heated haha

Locking grips, cool. The rethals and dirt bike grips in general have slots in them for safety wire.  Here's a how-to for adding safety wires to your grips.

Not a huge fan of safety wire but when no other method will work ( ie off road bikes in the wet) I used it. Locking grips make it easy to get the grips on and off when changing bars etc. They DON"T move. There are large flange large diameter motorcycle locking grips made for off road but I want the smaller diameter no flange type. So at the moment stuck with MTB left grip and a glue on throttle grip. The throttle side is always easy to get on and off anyway. BTW I don care if they are different or even a different colour. Appearence is of no interest to me at all.

Maybe we can make one!  You interested in that?

After doing some research I recently upgraded my grips with Pro Grip 719's, my old one's were really worn out. They are called dual density because they add a gel into them which reduces vibrations. They're not too squishy though, and they are actually much thicker and firmer than what came with the bike, while being soft at the same time. I'm definitely satisfied and recommend them. I went with all black and got them off ebay for under $15 shipped.

I recently changed mine to some cool blue anodised metal ring ones from eBay. They worked great but had to modify them a bit. The throttle side has some groves and a lip close to the controls. I couldn't get it over it due to the metal ring. Problem solved by spray painting the the throttle cable mount and spacing it out another three mm. Nobody would ever know. So much better than factory grips in my opinion

I had a set of grips that had a metal ring on them.  It was on the side where my thumb and first finger were and I found that I had to grip harder that was comfortable to be confident that the throttle wasn't slipping.  Do you experience the same thing?  It was tiring for me on longer rides.
