In case anyone was interested in purchasing one of these aftermarket slip-ons, I bought and installed one. I think it looks pretty good, but could be louder. Need to order bigger jets and install the lunch box. The seat of my pants feel better acceleration at higher RPMs, but I don't expect - or really need - a major gain in HP with this purchase.

Which slip on is that? Brand name & model and/or link would help future forum searches.

It's really just an "aftermarket slipon" from Amazon lol. It did not have a brand name or model number. It's from China and it's definitely not real carbon fiber. They have several models and options to choose from. For about $80, I figured what's the worst that could happen... I bought it purely as a cosmetic/sound upgrade.   

I actually wanted to mount it below the foot peg in a R6/Panigalle manner, but I didn't want any issues with the center stand which I wanted to retain.

The worst that could happen?.. the centre pipe in the muffler could rust out in short order and spew the fibrous packing material out the end with every hard throttle twist! .... but hopefully it never does! ..

It's quiet because you haven't removed the dB killer (I can see it protruding out at the end of the can). LOL

I used to have a same model, but it was stolen after a month or so, so I've purchased the same one, only in matte finish.

That's funny you're on your second one. Ya the baffle makes it relatively quiet, I took off the baffle as soon as I got home. I guess I'm comparing the sound to a Supertrapp slip on I had on my 05 GS. That thing would scream, I'm sure it'll get louder with time.

I like how both of those pipes look on your bike. 

Looks good.  It would look good if it was shorter and stopped near the right brake like you said.  I already yanked my center stand off though.

If you have the center stand off, you could probably mount under the footpeg. It would look bad ass.

The PO has a factory pro jet kit installed. The bike was bone stock other than the jet kit and some ugly all-white fairings when I bought it.

The Buddha was trying to help me figure what Jets are installed prior to me taking the carbs apart.

I am thinking 22.5 PILOT, 65 MID-MAIN, and 147.5 MAIN. I have zero experience with carbs and I'm hoping I don't ruin how the bike is running.

Thanks I found them.  Also ran across one that is silver that looks more like a dump style exhaust.  Not sure if it would fit or not.  Said 51mm I think.  Did you just measure and hack saw off the stock exhaust then?  If you had mounted it so it came out by the right side peg where would it have mounted to for stability?

This would be easier to mount and doesn't appear to be a true muffler. It's more like a tip you mount.

Would be loud as hell, but easy to mount. Like you said, cut the pipe and you can clamp this on. Mine I had welded on.

Thoughts?
