Just asking for opinions, before I go crazy looking for a short: would addition of a gps (nuvi wired to cut switch) require a larger main fuse? (Currently 20amp)
Been melting fuses lately, which indicates too much current running through. 'Recently' (3 very short trips plus idling in garage 4-5x) added a gps, as well as converting idiot lights to led (w/diode addition) & rectifier.
I smelled plastic burning last ride so I went home and checked for burned wires. All looked good.
Other sites suggested checking the fuse holder, but looks good, but new one won't be here for a few weeks.(they're cheap!)
Thoughts???

When I got home I put a new fuse in and it started right up. The fuse was beginning to melt on one side. I put another in w/power on-not running and the fuse didnt melt.

Rectifier tested bad, so I'm waiting for a new one. Any ideas what could be causing rectifier failure? This is the third one in 2 months.
Thx.

Also, w/rectifier disconnectd, ignition on, bike not running, wires (both) to main fuse get really hot. What could cause this???

Just discovered that one of the wires going to front brake light is also heated/melted. Seems like a defective brake lever.
