Hello all, I've got a 96 gs500e and found the left carb had a bent throttle plate causing vacuum issues, I got the bent plate out but was wondering about the correct way to get the new one in.

Thanks,
Red

Not sure if this is covered at all in either the clymer or Haynes manuals. Have you checked either of those?
It seems it has become necessary to qualify my posts:

No, still waiting on it to come in the mail, in the mean time I got it done, best bet is to freeze the stripped carb and plate for disassembly and reassembly as it allows the plate and shaft to contract giving you some working room, although very small.
