No it was a big red bike with dual exast and back tire twice as wide as mine. I had a real cool sound. Deep rumble. I think it was a big water cooled v twin.
He really didn't pull me that bad. I was wound tight he probably wasn't???
Do the big sport bikes handle the turns better than ours????

The more modern ones do. I'd say '88-'90 FZR400's, '89-newer FZR1000's and YZF1000's, R1's, R6's, '96-newer gixxers, sixxers, ZX-7's...

Sounds like you were running with a Ducati ST4.

BAD WILL!  BAD, BAD WILL!

I've never heard of Quincy, so I had to look it up in the road atlas.  Lotsa squiggly red lines in your area, and some with green dots beside'em.  It must be near Paradise... ;)

That was cool... I have a similar but opposite story to tell...
I am riding my eli 1000 and stop at a gas station... and this little black kid, looked 16, and like he has anorexia... he comes up and says yea cool bike, what is it I said elimiator 1000, and he says his friend has one just like it, and I say really, he says Yea its a big suzuki, and I say that will be a madura, does it have a V4... he says yea yea I can beat you with a 250... I said a 250, a rebel 250... He says No man, wanna race for pink slips... I'll race you with a 250... I say again what 250... and race where. He said some road somewhere a few miles away, ... I say what 250  a route 66, that also was a 250, and he goes some like that, little bike I got. And I say what 250 again... these are the only 2 I know of... or nitehawk 250, and he goes its nothing like that, and once again I say what 250... He says he has a little some, a TX or somehting... and a light went on ... I say TZ250... He goes yea yea... and I say, OK I'll ride that and you ride this and winner takes both... he says no man I just wanna ride my bike... I say no you just wanna ride my bike... I we should race at mooresville race track and we call in the timing people, have them fit race transponders and we decide how many laps, and give the pink slips to them... and he just says ... not man I wanna ride my bike... and leaves. Yea I actually know a guy who can beat a 1000cc bike with a 250cc bike...

I don't think anyone would confuse the sounds of a 600RR for the "deep rumble" of a large V-twin he described.  I vote for the Duc.

rc-51 is more silver than red. The superhawk is probably the most common red vtwin liter (dual exhaust) water cooled bike. They do have a nice rumble...especially with a/m pipes...I almost bought one.

A couple years ago my brother and I rode north out of Reno to Susanville, then west on 36 to Red Bluff.  My brother (who has the curvy roads of NE Arkansas somewhat available to him) was starving for a bit of lean angle after we had riding out of Utah and across Nevada on mostly straight asphalt.

I wish we could have taken 70 through Quincy, or at least 36 from Red Bluff to the coast, but I wanted to stop in to see my in-laws near Cottonwood.  It all came out OK; after the visit with the in-laws we went north to Redding and took 299 to the coast.  He was grinning from ear to ear for 140 miles!!

Great ride. 299 and 36 Norther CA is blessed with rides.
Anytime I have crossed nevada or utah I put my bike in the back of my truck. :) I don't think I would want to ride my gs that far on the interstate. I spent time working in Moab, but I would truck my bike. Spent a winter in AZ and trucked my bike.

Me neither!  Freeways are for when there's no other way to go, or you're late.

Naw, we rode (both of my GS500Es on) US 50; the so-called "Loneliest Highway in America".  It was a dreary but interesting beginning to our "B.C. and Back" ride:

What are all the squares with numbers on your map? They look as if they must refer to some kind of text.
