He said "live" turkey, not "wild", but that would have been my submission had it been, lol.

I like it!
Haha I was hoping to get a chuckle or two. Usually I can spot some turkeys in the cornfields this time of year, but no luck this morning...

thats a good one

I saw some live turkeys back on october, but I havent seen any recently, so im out on this one. But I may go out riding today because its going to be 51  :woohoo:

ShowBizWolf

I'm guessing the challenge is still the turkey one? There used to be a whole bunch (like 20 or 30) that would show up in my parents' back yard... but that doesn't normally happen until January sometime...  :icon_sad:

I suspect if the "live turkey" challenge is still active, and the "wild turkey" shot didn't suffice, then we're going to be here a while.

I mean, how often do you park your motorcycle somewhere where a live (wild, presumably) turkey is going to be, and then happen to go back to get it when the turkey is there? Because I guarantee you riding up near any wild turkey is going to scare it off long before you can get parked and take a picture.

I'd suggest the "wild turkey" gets the job done and we need a new challenge. :) Just my $0.02 ... my bike works now so I can play.

Haha live turkey could be an option for me, as there's quite a few farms close to where I live. I'd have a hard time snapping a photo of my bike with a live wild turkey, because like you said it'll be hard to get one close enough to the bike to get a photo. There used to be a farm up the road that always had turkeys in a fenced area close to the road, but it's not there anymore. I have a place or two I might check on my lunch break tomorrow. Otherwise, if we're counting my other photo, let me know and I'll come up with another challenge.

Nice pic, but what we've got going on here is a challenge game.  It's not really a photo album thread.

Current challenge is your bike with a live turkey nearby.  But seeing as how late in the season it's getting I think we'll end up just going with rscottlow's photo, or this thread will go into hibernation...

Welcome to the forum, by the way

Hupjai? Your call.  :dunno_black:

If we're counting it, next challenge will be your bike next to/in front of/under a covered bridge.

Well, I think that means I am going to have to take another pass, considering:

Yes... there is only one pin on that map. And it's nearly to Louisiana. Pretty sure I'm not going to do a 5-6 hour ride each way to go snap a pic.

This list shows a few more, some are only a few counties away:
http://www.dalejtravis.com/cblist/cbtx.htm

Many of those are inside parks like Fiesta Texas or Aquarena Springs, purely ornamental pedestrian outdoor furniture.

Still, a few counties in Texas is like small countries in Europe or New England states! So I think I'll have to wait for the next challenge.

One of these days!

Sorry Josh! Check out SW Ohio/SE Indiana on that map (where I typically ride) and you'll see why I thought this would be a relatively easy challenge...I didn't realize these things weren't found all over the place! They're a cool piece of architecture, that I enjoy seeing on my rides. My wife's late grandmother used to take her father-in-law (my wife's great-grandfather) out on drives once a week to go look at covered bridges. Also, the grandparents of a kid I went to high school with were the owners of this restaurant...it's about 4 hours north, so I've never been there, but he always raved about it. http://www.coveredbridgepizzaparlor.com/

I say for the sake of the game, we move on!

Covered bridge?!?

Not near me... good luck and have fun! haha

rscottlow

Man, I feel like a real dummy. Covered bridges are everywhere out here. I usually see two or three of them on most rides. I didn't realize they weren't so prevalent everywhere else. I'll expand the challenge if nobody is able to get a photo with a covered bridge.

It's deja vu all over again, see back to page 262 when the last wild bird on a bike challenge was issued.

Man, I feel like a real dummy.

Haha. well maybe I'll post up "your bike with a long-horn steer in the background", since those are everywhere around here :)

Or, "your bike, parked between two 4wd crew cab pickup trucks", which is many times a day.

Anyway, local flavors. :) We just don't really have those funky covered bridges here in the "west".

But, have fun. I'll wait for the next challenge.

Watcher

I looked up AZ and it seems all the covered bridges are all pedestrian walkways or on golf-courses.

There's a cool Rattlesnake colored/shaped pedestrian bridge I might be able to park nearby.  You walk in his mouth and come out his ass on the other side of a 6 lane highway.  IIRC it's near downtown Tucson.
If you'll accept that I could nab it in the next day or two.

Yay, a reason to leave the house!  I've been shut in for the past week or so playing Fallout.  I'm usually out exploring but it's cold out...
