This would be great for disabled people who don't want to "downgrade" to a trike.  Still feel the lean in the turns, yet no need to hold it up at stops.

I agree with your thoughts on the safety issue Watcher... it doesn't matter if it will balance itself, dangers are still out there of getting into an accident. Not to mention that technology does fail and it would be awful to get so comfortable on a self balancing bike that you never really learn how to balance yourself... which could end up in a bad situation. If that makes sense.

Have you guys seen the Helite gear? Jackets with build in airbags

Was looking at some jackets like that online last evening very briefly... the price is too high for me right now but certainly would be worth it in a serious accident.

I couldn't afford them, not even in my wildest dreams. Good idea though, secure the neck and protect the spine. All round inflation should prevent pneumothorax too, which is good
