I still like the Bridgestone BT45.

I'm impressed how they work without much warmup even at freezing or damp cold conditions, especially for an old bias ply tire.

I have newer radials on my GSX-R and I would be scared to use them in the conditions above.

I've become a big fan of the Michelin Pilot Street Radials.
I primarily use the bike for commuting (330ks / week). The Michelins have been really good in both wet and dry conditions.
They are, I've found, pretty poor on gravel - much less forgiving than the Pirelli Sport Demons. I only discovered this as a result of having family who moved 'up country'.

how many weights are on those pilot street radials? trying to get an idea how "comfy" of a road tire they are, I've noticed more balancing/weights needed. the less comfy a tire gets. not always but its a good starting point.

The Michelins balanced out with two fine weights on the front and one on the rear.
The tyres do need to be running at correct inflation. I realise this is true of all tyres but the Michelins seem less forgiving. I notice that 2-3 pounds low on the front makes them feel less sharp.

I fully agree with MichaelM3 on the pressure.
I can also feel a noticeable change in the steering and handling with a loss of only 2-3 psi.
That is one of the reasons that I now use a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.
The other reason is that I have had an unexpected rear puncture which caused me considerable inconvenience during a ride.
