Thoughts for a project bike

Not like I really need another bike     but...

After playing with the SVS fairings on my GS, I had the idea of building another race bike considering I have 95% of the parts. The only things I can think of that I would need are the triples, forks (now that the forks were shipped yesterday) and clip-ons. I do have SV forks but the tubes are bent. I have the frame, swingarm, motor (need to mod timing advance and I have 75mm pistons/cylinder), carbs, gas tank, brakes, SV front calipers (brackets may need to be made for the donor forks), Katana rotors, GSXR tach, stock exhaust header (M4 can to be added), throttle, wire harness, chain, sprockets, cush drive, wheels, rotors, SVS fairings. I would need to fab rearsets but that would be easy and I have the footpegs. Anything else I could fabricate.

Ideas and/or comments?

Sounds like I have a project in the making.

Just finished up my race bike. You may as well put a better front-end on and a 4.5" wide rear wheel on it so you can run slicks, or modern race DOT rubber :thumb:

Also, I just fired the bike up with some mikuni vm 38mm carbs the other day. They were basically set up for an xs650, and the jetting is damn close. I'm going to throw it on the dyno for some fine tuning after I put a new clutch in it. There are a bunch of places that sell 36mm and 34mm pre-jetted vm carbs for the xs650. Gives us gs racers another alternative to the slow throttle response+hassle of spacing out gsxr carbs, and the high price of a set of Keihn CR special carbs

I have been running 110/140 BT090 and they are great. Unless I come across a 4" rear, I have no plans on changing to a wider wheel. My idea is to build this as a spare bike without a lot of expense. Not concerned about bigger carbs for a stock motor but I have thought about them for the 555.
