Hey everybody.  Just some thoughts of mine.
You know, when I started this thread I really thought I would get a lot more feedback since my gs is sooo different, and so unique. But idk, maybe nobody has anything good to say, so they rather not say anything at all. That's cool. I know there is a lot of die hard naked gs5   fans in this forum. I too, like the original naked look. But with all honesty, I would never even consider striping my bike into a naked gs5. Wherever I go, people are always telling me "that looks sick, what kind of bike is that?" It blows their mind when I tell them it's a gs5. Not to be cocky. But My point is I know my bike looks awesome, haters gotta hate cuz that's what they do, and if you have haters,  then you are doing something right. Thanks y'all. Jt2012  OUT

I prefer the "f" model--I enjoy the comfort the fairing provides, and it looks cool too. The only problem is that often people think that it is a crotch rocket when really it is a sheep  in wolf's clothing. I an used to my 1978 Yamaha bored, stroked, etc. SR 500, which looks old and slow but surprises a lot of cruisers and Harleys up until 70 or so MPH. I think your bike  is  cool. The only thing that doesn't really fit my taste is the "S" on the windshield, but as others have mentioned, that is a matter of taste. No matter what, my gs500f is totally fun to ride--I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

The bike looks sick dude. How does it handle with the extended swing arm?
On a side note, i noticed you posted in the aussie forum, are you in australia? If you are i have some brackets here to move the rear sets back and upwards. They give an excellent aggressive riding position in combo with clip ons. Hit me up if your interested.

No matter what i do to it, it's still a GS
It's not how fast your bike is, it's how long you are prepared to hold the throttle on.

Oh just fur it.
That way it can be a "costume" GS500.
Cool.

Hey Crackin. Thanks for the input bro. It actually feels really awesome with the extension. It obviously is not a track bike. But it's definitely a different feeling from driving a stock bike. It's hard to describe and you get used to it, but you can definitely feel the extra length. If you ever have the chance to test drive an extended bike you will know exactly what I am trying to say. I honestly love the way it feels on the turns. I feel more confident and stable. But thats just me. I would never go back . Thanks brother

Crackin. Also, I'm in the U.S. I'm fairly new to the forum and honestly had no idea I was on the Australian side. It's the very first anf only forum I have ever been a part of. Still learning.  I am going to look into those brackets though. Where did u get them?

Hey ajensen,  thanks for the comments brother. With all honestly,  I like the fact that people call my bike a sport bike. I mean just look at my baby. What else would you call it? I would never call MY bike a sheep in wolf's clothing.  My point  is, you should be proud your creation.  Thanks bro.

I am going to look into those brackets though. Where did u get them?
I made them out of 10mm aluminum plate. I made a few different sets out of timber, then when i was happy i transfered the design to aluminum. You have to extend the gear lever though. Now i have adjustable vortex GSXR1000 pegs also with an aluminum plate to move them back and up. But with the GSXR pegs you have to run GP shift, which is fun until you forget and gear down in traffic instead of up lol. The stock GS pegs weigh a ton.

That sounds like an awesome idea. Idk if you read where I talked about how I cut the original peg brackets, made new brackets,  and welded them on the original plate in order to custom fit my new pegs. But I really like your idea. Can u post some pics bro?

Hey Crackin. You obviously have great taste in bikes...haha. what do you think about bar end mirrors dude?

Sent from my SM-J320V using Tapatalk

crackin

Bar end mirrors are cool, I have the small round ones on mine. The only draw back is that with clip ons (which i also use and they are exactly like yours) they make the front end look a little droopy and wide, but way better looking than stock mickey mouse ears.  My bike is an E model so no fairings, but i think they would look slick on your machine.
