Hello all,

I am looking for information on how to pull a dent that is NOT creased.  My tank has a dent on the center section under the front portion of the seat.  Does anyone have a suggestion on what to use to PULL this dent out?

Ugh I have a smaller one right there too. Put it there with my fist one day after too many beers and not getting the tank to line up properly while trying to put my bike back together Would love some advice on how to remove it as well (if it's possible). I've googled it... read up on those suction cup pullers from Harbor Freight... a method with heat/cold... but never seriously looked into anything.

MY SV had a beat up tank. pulled out most of what I could with a piece of 2x2" pine, and lots of hot glue... then bondo'd the rest.

Ride it in to a few auto panel shops, they have really good suction pullers that'd suck out that sucker!

You can probably improve it with lots of creativity and a hot glue dent puller. Otherwise you can easily PDR that dent by going through the fuel filler. A good PDR tech would make it perfect.

You could try to pull it with a pot magnet. Or get a N52 or even an N60 with a hole in the middle ,~1" dia and mount it to a 2X4 and use that to stick and pull.

Something like that with countersink hole. Find one with a nice 1" dia and a lifting force of ~30lb. You can pull anything with that.

Way cool! I've used hot glue before, but never magnets--good hint, thanks.

In fact those N52 magnets about the size of a hockey puck - 2 can lift a car.

1700 lb pull force. And its an N45. N60 is available too, just my 2 sec google isn't readily finding it.

You don't need nearly that big, 1" and 1/4" thick will do, $10-20 and get the strongest you can find, likely an N52.

Just make sure you keep super magnets out of the hands of little kids (or silly adults for that matter).

Swallowing one of those magnets would be a minor problem, but two of them in sequence could be devastating.  They're strong enough to rip internal organs apart if they zing together.

To be quite honest, if someone were "stupid" enough to swallow two magnets... I think the term is "thin the herd"
