Suzuki Stevo

Suzuki Stevo, can also be called Scout Stevo. And.... little did I know that today, the day I bought the Scout..is the 50 Anniversary of "Burt" Munro's under-1,000 cc world record, at Bonneville, August 26 1967. This record still stands; Munro was 68 and was riding a 47-year-old machine when he set his last record. This has nothing to do with my Scout other than he did do it on a highly modified Scout, I just thought that buying an Indian Scout on the exact day, fifty years later was kind of bizarre, I didn't have a clue about the date until the salesman told me

Watch The World's Fastest Indian--a movie about Munro. Maybe the best motorcycle movie ever.

One of my fellow ridercoaches has a Scout, his is all black with the brown leather.  It's a beautiful bike.  I especially like what Indian has done with the polished accents on the black engine.  Overall the bike is a lot "classier" than a Harley.

Congratulations on the new bike!

I don't see no Injun motorcycles anywhere. Yea .... where's the oil leak ? Or the wires out in the open, and cables and gasoline and oil ... naaaa. No Injun.

Cool.

No real Indian has overhead valves.

Surely you mean overhead cams.

Unless they used to arrange the head like a Briggs and Stratton?

you mean the bs side valve assy? hell i think just about all bikes have BOTH an OHC and an OHV. lol except for most harleys which are OHV but cam is gear driven near base of engine. but iirc one could take via cylinder and piston swap an 883 sportie up thru 1200 to a 1340 without much else. (using existing heads) but fwiw i do like the resurrected indie. :).

how many vintage Indians have YOU ever owned?

I'm all for rightfully crapping all over bikes you don't like, but you can't say something isn't "REAL" because it has a part you don't like? because it's 100% real.

Over all dumb statement.

The original Indian V twins were flat heads--like lawnmowers and Ford flat heads used to be. My belief is that if you like a motorcycle, it is good. I do not mean to insult new Indians.
