The pipes on my lovely K2 are fairly worn from many, many miles of travel. I'd love to treat her with some stainless pipes, but I don't want something like a Dalkevic or Black Widow system because that'll be far too loud, I want something that'll not be obnoxiously loud, maybe a little more low end grunt, but as stock as possible and one that ships worldwide...any options? I've heard some people here have aftermarket "OEM" pipes, would love to be pointed in the right direction.

Shortly after I bought my GS I replaced the exhaust. At the time, I knew next to nothing about bikes and just wanted to get rid of the rusted, faded and rashed stock system. I went on eBay and searched for something like "stainless GS500 exhaust." Not many options at all came up... but there was one complete system, no name brand, and in the description it said, "No rejet needed" so I bought it. I've had it on my bike for about 5 and a half years now and I love it. WITH the baffle, it sounds pretty much near stock. Without it (and because it's worn in I believe) it's got a really nice sound IMO. I just wish eBay would let me see what the original listing was so I could share it!

That all being said... since you want something as stock as possible and want stainless pipes, why not just buy the stainless pipes only (and not the muffler... use the stock GS muffler if yours is in good shape)? You'd not want the Delkevic header pipes because they don't go back far enough... I've learned over the years from looking at these listings that the Delkevic systems are 3 parts... the header pipes, a mid pipe and then the muffler... where as my generic one and the Black Widow ones are only two parts (header pipes and muffler). Edit: ugh, looking more at that one in the link, it shows in another picture that it comes apart... but... it's still the whole thing you'd need to put shiny new pipes on and whatever muffler you choose unlike the Del one which leaves you needing a midpipe of some kind.

Idk if that will help at all but I figured I'd give it a shot

Although pricey, Motad makes a full stainless for the GS and adds a little of the low sound you're looking for without the loudness of most aftermarkets.

this is only the muffler but it's a knock down price from their usual $800. Works out at $320 USD.

I was going to get one but apparently there really is something different about the 2003 model! but it would only be a matter of an adapter and they wouldn't reduce it further, in the end I didn't want to spend the cash, I'd rather get some front springs or an R6 shock.

How stock do you guys think this'll sound? here in my country, exhaust mods tend to be frowned upon by local traffic police and might even label your bike "non-roadworthy", meaning you can't legally ride it anymore...so will this sound fairly stock?

And I wouldn't like just the headers. If I'm replacing the exhaust, I might as well do the whole thing...color consistency and whatnot...I want her to be shiny

In the stock pipes the Y section actually has baffles in there [go ahead an flash a light down in there] aftermarket pipes probably don't have this, and I don't know what the inside of the slip-on is shaped like, but if its straight through, its gonna be more noisy.

Stainless OEM zorst? No such animal surely?

not much to add as far as the gs goes, mainly only aftermarket setup i had was a vintage yoshi for the gs. or the gsxr wedge can mod. both used the stock rustalot model oem pipes. but having worked with HD and others as well as cars, stainless exhaust after a bit of use takes on a nice browning effect from the heat. actually looks kinda cool.
