Hey Buds, I'm new here. Glad to see there's an active motorcycle forum that might be helpful to my bike, ol' blu'.

I have a GS500f   2004, and when I was 18 years old it was my lifeline and blood. However it suffered from a lot of neglect from the previous owner and I haven't been able to get out all of the kinks.

I'm looking for parts, but a shop had it for one year  and they told me to pick it up since they couldn't get any parts for it?  :dunno_black: I'm sure they were just giving me some sort of run around. But anyways I'm where I was a year ago with her.

I just want her running again, I need the rod that the shifting lever is hooked to, a shifter that's close if not exact to oem, and a carb kit rebuild kit to get started. Does anyone know where I might be able to find these items, or if the shop was just memeing me since I'm young and they didn't feel like working on it (21 now)

TL;DL      need a place to order parts.   Sorry for not reading the rules to the dot. Thanks guys.

I get most of my parts from ebay.

They are giving you the run around. A 2004 is easy to get parts for.  I have a 2005 with a 2011 engine and had no trouble with either.
Which country are you in?

Partzilla is almost never the cheapest place, but they will have almost any part you can possibly need.

You can buy the shift lever and any other shifter components here: http://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Suzuki/Motorcycle/2004/GS500F/GEAR+SHIFTING/parts.html

As for carb rebuild kit, I would look on eBay.
