(Yama, PM'd)

I've been trying myself to draw up plans for a PC-built-in desk in SolidWorks, but I doubt I'll get anywhere with it :D My Fractal Design R4 will hold up for the time being. My plan for now is to just buy a 9-10ft wood countertop from IKEA or Home Emporium and weld up a base for it. Been acquiring woodworking tools for some time now under the premise of "saving money" by building most of our furniture, but who knows when the hell I'll have time for that!

Janx, RetroPie (turns out I misspelled that) is basically a small Linux-based OS with a bunch of built-in emulators for all the classic consoles--NES, SNES, SEGA, N64, GB, GBC, GBA, etc. (and even things like the Apple 2 and Commodore 64). Buy a $40 Raspberry Pi (mini PC), a 16GB+ micro SD card, and some classic USB controllers for cheap and you can play hundreds of old games... Mario, Zelda, Battletoads, Double Dragon, Street Fighter, you name it. Just gotta know a guy with a large ROM (game file) library... :tongue2: Lots of guys build theirs into custom arcade cabinets or bar tables, but I keep mine in a 3x4" case for work travel and vacation.

due to rules here, i cant post links to the roms. but theyre EASILY found. ;) jus sayin lol. anyone remember atari 2600? just about every game they released including the emulator would fit on a 3.5" floppy disk. ( yes i know im old lol) the games are TINY in size.

Ha! Guess that didn't come across too clearly: I'm the guy with the library :icon_twisted: my friends and I started stockpiling those things up before the C&D orders went out to the more popular sites, though they're certainly still out there. Another option is one of those sketchy ebay download-link sellers. I've had luck with them in the past; also bought a service manual for my XT225 so I had a searchable pdf version handy on my phone at all times. Guess it'll come in handy when I get around to rebuilding it...

I gotta say, as much as I love my GS, opening the Yamaha up to find those adjustable valves the first time was like Christmas morning.

i know ;) , was just saying the roms are EASY to locate if one knows where to look. ;) i wanted to say more, but that was as far as ii couldd go pretty much :)

Damn right we're pulling for you here, Yama. And when you *DO* feel like giving up, come to your family. We'll cheer you, kick your butt, whatever is needed in the moment. But DO NOT GIVE UP. That's what they want. Gather the necessary documentation and shove it right up their tailpipe. I'm going through the same thing myself.  :technical:

Once you shove it up their tailpipe and get the ball rolling again, it will be time to start thinking of how you're going to get back on a beautiful GS500.  :thumb:

"Right to starve state"  I want to laugh and cry at THIS gem at the same time. Don't give up!!!!!!!

ill end up back on a gs. whether trike or 2 wheels. but i figure ill install an hd type heel toe shifter to facilitate easier shifts with a prosthetic.

naah my friend, we do that to keep ya goin ;) lol. not much i can do about the stump/prosthesis until i can swing physical therapy. if that doesnt work, either i have it removed at the knee or i do without. or i have him relocate the tendons if possible. but i am uninsured though so its all on the maybe to do list eventually. ive got MILES literally on that knee scooter ej sent me. it went with me to the west coast and back via dallas. my right leg is massive now lol. rather funny tbh compared to the other one. its been my sole source of propulsion :). first things first will try to work out a cash arrangement with pt doc.

lol thats my day in a nutshell. trfying to configure the prosthesis for use with a bent knee. think i figured it out. 2 options 1 either i get my paws on a knee pad for a crutch, OR,  I UNLEASHED BY BACKYARD engineer and tried making use of the sole for my old crow boot. not ideal, BUT IT WOULD WORK. idk lol.

Going to try and get my ortho on the 7th to examine my good leg.  its developed issues. knee pops like crazy plus hardly any bendability in it. should be nothing major.

Really not much to report. Except for leg pain in my dominant leg now. C'est la vie.

They cut it off r AKA (right above knee amputation) Aug 23.

I can't get anyone to tell me when they are going to start to fit a prosthesis.  :dunno_black:

Heeding Doctors advice would be fine, IF I could get a Doctor to respond to me with some! (Advice, that is.)
