OK anyone think one is better than the other. They both seem to stock all the stuff I want, except gaskets... kibble white doesn't have them. Anyone know if one has better quality thna the other. Ape says stainless steel and inconel or somehting for their valves, so does kibble white but they say its black diamond polished or some like that.
Cool.

OK on a side note how do people afford to go racing... especially 4 cyl's. The price list runs like this...
Valves 24.50 need 16, guides $8.50 again 16, seats $96 for 16, $127 for gaskets, $200 for retainers, $130 for springs, $30 for keepers and that doesn't even include cams 300+ , adjustable sprokets 100+, manual tensioners 69.99, and none of the stuff is even 1/2 way exotic, no titanium anything, and it doesn't include any labor to install these, or shipping to bring them from the other coast. I am pretty much going broke in a damn hurry, and I am not even building anything performance oriented. I believe I am going to buy a concourse head and drop it in, of course I am going to get gaskets and re ring the thing, probably with total seal rings, cos they are cheaper and better than stock.

We like the Kibblewhite stuff, but APE is good quality too. And yeah, racing's crazy expensive. A buddy just put a Falicon billet crank in his SV, dealer cost on that puppy was $1600.

Look at www.aperaceparts.com, and at www.blackdiamondvalves.com... and for good measure look at www.totalseal.com. Cool stuff even if I cant afford it... but on a GS I will buy these ... and not even blink... cos 1. I will ride the living snot out of it, and 2 its got 4 valves against 16, and 2. pistons against 4. An eli 9... OK I am looking at a used head... in good shape off one of the concours guys.
Cool.
