Hello all,
A friend is looking to sell a fiberglass tank and tailsection to fund some other work on her bike. I believe the tank is from Moto Carrera, who has a pretty good reputation among fiberglass bike part manufacturers. Usually these are used on 70's era bikes with a single backbone frame, so the GS500 isn't a real good fit, but many people have multiple bikes in the shed.

There is also a seat pad that comes with the tailsection, I'll try to get some pictures of all 3 pieces together to help visualize how it goes. It's a pretty awesome setup, and if I wasn't so poor right now I'd take them off her hands. The tank has dual taps and a non-locking cap. We might also have a taillight that tucks into the hump of the tailsection nicely and would look great.

She's looking for $275 for the tank and $200 for the tailsection, could play ball a little bit on price if necessary. +actual shipping cost if necessary, she's in Minneapolis if you're local and want to check them out.

I've got those carbs on the bike and turns out I only modded my throttle cable for the 02 carbs I had, so choke cable form the 89-00 works on the 02 unmodded. I just used your throttle cable.
The carbs were 100% A-OK. Untouched original condition. Minimal cleaning and jet to the manual specs for non EPA and the bike roared. And a 120 mile run to my old house went beautifully.
