Hi, I am working on my new bike.  It was missing a left mirror so I ordered a pair from JC Whitney which look like exact replacements, they are Emco brand.  One of the mirrors has a left handed thread but the sockets on my bike are both right handed.  Anyone have any comments on this?   Luckily the replacement mirror I needed was the right handed one but still would have liked to replace both.

The other question was regarding tire pressure.  I have the Bridgestone BT45's which are marked with a max pressure of  41 psi while the Clymer manual listed somewhere in the 30's.   I can only assume that the book is referring to the stock tires and that I should follow the ratings on the tire itself.  Correct?

You probably ordered mirrors for a Yamaha - they have both left and right hand thread mirrors - everyone else has only right hand thread.

DO NOT fill the tires up to their max - the max pressure is not a recommended pressure for normal riding. It is generally the pressure at which the tire is rated for its maximum weight load and over that is "bad" - a different topic entirely.  If you are using the stock sizes, stick close to the pressure in the manual - you may want to check the Brigestone site to see if they offer any advice for other sizes.

mjm is spot-on, you can get little converter gismos for the thread on Yamaha mirrors also the tyre preasure GENERALLY relates to the bike, rather than a specific tyre, so handbook preasure is best, usually there is a sticker on the swingarm as well giving recomended preasures.
