Hello, first of all, thank you for accepting me on the forum.
I have a problem with my 92 gs500.
the engine was making a strange rattling noise on the left side when cornering left.
I checked the dynamo but that was fine, however when I took the oil out something strange was in it,
does anyone have any idea what this is?

After I filtered the oil and put everything back together and the engine is running without any strange noises.

can someone please help me?
thanx.

This is just a long shot "guess".

Take a look at your oil dipstick...see if the end is ripped off!

If somebody tried to check the oil level, when the engine is running, you can get the dip stick caught into some gears!

Naaa, that's a chunk of the lacquer on the alternator rotor.
Wouldn't worry about it too much.
Cool.

Welcome to the forum Martijn!

It looks like those little orange bits of epoxy that come off the magnets. I found them in my oil this past summer too.

Check out this link here and about halfway down the page, you'll see what I found (and also where it comes from!)

unfortunately, the noise is still there >:(
It only happens when the engine is warmed up and you take a left turn, its more of a resonating/ rambling noise around 6k and it stops immediately when you lose the gas or go into a right turn.

does anyone have any idea? dynamo was good and secure and al the exhaust bolts are tightened
thanx
