Showbizgirl - You know for a gearhead wanna be grease monkey you sure wear a lot of pink.
I'm thinking I'll follow suit and work on my bikes only wearing pink feathers, flowers and frills.

Yea I dunno about those bushings, but the guys that coated mine turned them into a thick and fluffy and grey mass that you soak in the fork oil and then it just feels slick as a banana peel when you're running across the room.

Cool.

LOL, its the old boys like girls who wear pink ... not always true.
I do like to see pink on my wife ... however my wife looks absolutely drop dead gorgeous in grey as well. She also likes wearing grey.
And she hates pink.

Now get some grease stains on that pink by going forks seals wearing it. That's gonna hurt I love YOU.

Cool.

Of course , until the 19th centuary, pink was a BOYS colour and blue a girl's colour. No idea why it flipped.

And side by side since my above pic isn't that good lol:

That new one's coating still looks rather anaemic. My coated one was gray and when I soaked it in oil it positively seemed to get 2X the wall thickness with something that seemed to look like mold. It wasn't, it just took up oil and puffed up nicely while being slick as ice.

when I rebuilt these last forks [I seriously gotta upload those pictures.] I found out a couple of things.

oil seal works across ALL years.
and more importantly the DUST shield boot IS different how ever, I have a 95 dust shield on MY 2005 [spanish forks], and they have never popped off.
I replaced those two bushings as well as the plastic piston ring.

two bushings have two different part numbers across the years, but can confirm 1990 bushings work in 2007 bikes forks [spanish], no difference in sizes. hell even the bushing I got new for a 1990 GS forks. had a different like "part number" stamped into them, compared to the OEM original  bushings from the 1990 forks. Got both as OEM Suzuki parts from bikebandit.

Oh and FK the 50 dollar tool that Suzuki sells for taking apart the Spanish forks. THE OTHER END OF my "special made" tool for taking apart GS forks. All you gotta do it drop it down into the forks line it up with the inside of the piston, and "twist" it in threading it maybe 2/3 threads it'll stop and wont let you go further, gets out even the most STUCK fork and even is enough friction fit to torque down the bottom bolt to proper spec.

It's a 5/8 nut, welded to the all thread it fits on, got both at lowes [the all thread is cheaper than the round stock???], sloppy stick weld the nut to all thread, now you've got a tool that can remove both the standard GS forks, AND THE STUPIDLY ANNOYING SPANISH FORKS!
