Hello everyone,
Sorry for the lack of introductory in the meet and greet, but I have a problem and need an answer fast.

First, my name is Dan and Hello to all!
Thank you for and and all help, much appreciated.

I am trying to sell my 06' GS500F - recently I took the bike apart, cleaned the carbs, new oil filter and oil, new air filter, etc. I showed the bike to someone yesterday and it ran beautifully. The only 'problem' I noticed was that the rpms would run high as if the throttle was sticking, but as soon as i released the clutch and the bike started moving, the rpms would drop to normal range.

As of today, I showed the bike and it has white smoke coming out of the exhaust every time i rev the bike, and there is loss of power. I cant get the bike to go over 35 mph. I checked the oil dip stick and it felt pretty dry, so i put in another 2 qts. Not sure if i should have or not since i just did the oil change a week ago.

I have done maintenance on the bike before and Im 90% certain I did everything correct when working on the bike. There is always that 10% of doubt though. I think I know the problem but I want to confirm it and hope its something else, an easy fix.

Thank you for your help

check the routing of the choke cable, sometimes it pops out of the little "seat" on the carb end of it. cause it to be like the ever slightest bit open.
