Hello everyone!

Because of the holidays, I was not able to buy one of those dripper jerry can (to not only change oil in the future but to also drain the tank to check out the filter there).

But yesterday something magical happend, well not at first. At first I was driving around at 50km/hr and the bike started to act up. It had the same feeling as if I was running out of fuel. I pulled over, bike died and changed petcock position, waited a few sec and it started. Drove away and got to the gym.
Some time later I got back on the bike and, it felt better, as if I could accelerate better so I was like... doesn't hurt me to go on the highway and try it out so I did. Went 5th gear 100km/hr and decided lets just go WOT and before I knew it I was going 150km/hr and still climbing.

The magically thing happend, the bike fixed itself! Now I'm just not sure if I should still check out the petcock for possible remaining dirt or just leave it like this because why fix something that isn't broken right?:p

Anyways, I want to thank all of you for the help and support:)
Really appreciate it.

PS, I really don't understand in what position it's now.

In my mind it's ON but the arrow is pointing to PRI. So, is it now on ON or PRI?:)

It's on prime. That tends to confirm the assessment that you either have a failing petcock, petcock vacuum line disconnected or otherwise failing, or a bad vacuum leak.

Well, i switched the petcock before from ON to prime (or it might have been from prime to ON) when I initially discovered the problem but at the time, it did not solve anything.

I guess I will switch the position again and try it out :)

@mr27
You're 100% right. I tried and indeed if it's on ON it feels like its running out and it runs pretty good on PRIME. I do however have a question for you.

At this moment I wount be able to work on the bike because of "reasons" therefor I would like to know if I can just continue riding the bike on PRIME position. I did read that when the bike is on PRIME that it lets fuel freely enter the carbs and this may cause the bike to not start.
If this is true will I than be able to get away with turning the switch to ON whenever I stop the bike and than turn it back to PRIME when I want to ride again? Or is that pointless??

Thank you in advance:)

Yes you are correct. You can safely ride it in prime and turn it back to on when you park. Don't leave it parked on prime, not only will it likely flood, it might even overflow and dump a.pint of gas on the ground.

doeplidoep

Haha yes, that may have been the reason why I was stuck on a highway bridge without safe place last night.

Always check the gas before you ride.

Thank you all for the help and tips, can't say enough how much I appriciate it:)

Also beware that running in PRI will bypass the petcock's reserve functionality, which might also result in you stuck on a bridge with no fuel if you don't check it.

Thank you, did not know that, I just refuel when I'm aroun 30%tank because I'm afraid that the bike would die because i have to switch to res but now I know that as long as I have enough to get to the gas station that its ok to keep in prime.

Thank you :)
