Hey everyone I realize I have been slinking around the forum a little bit but have neglected to share a picture of my GS. I bought it over the winter and have been doing some work on it. It has a Yoshi exhaust, a katana 600 shock, and has been converted to naked because the previous owner laid it down really hard and tore the whole side up.

Welcome, Ida!  From Meridian.  West of you by a couple hours. I get out that way for work now and then but that would be in the company van.  You've got some awesome twisty canyons out there, not to mention ages of flat stuff.

Thank you! I'm right in St Anthony actually and it's a lot of fun to ride the country roads out here and there is an amazing sunrise view of the Tetons every morning I go to work. My favorite spots to ride are out to Jackson on highway 33 and explore out there or the endless foothill farm roads that lead to the windmills. My folks live near Richland WA so I know right where Meridian is from all the times we drove through. I like Boise area but there is always road construction it seems haha

hi! how does the yoshimura sound on a 500gs? compairing to the stock exhaust. Id like to change mine. ofc its a work to change the integrated exhaust system to fit a slip on, have anyone done that kind of project here? would nice to see tutorial on that.

Hey Meukowi, sorry I never saw your comment here. I really like the Yoshi slip on. It's not as loud as the V&H or other pipes but it is quite a bit louder under throttle and it is definitely a deeper, more throaty noise. Definitely an improvement over stock without being obnoxious. Putting it on was pretty straight forward since the rest of the exhaust and center stand is the same original, stock unit. Also the brackets fit in the stock mounting points so it was a pretty straight forward cut and slip on. I was thinking the super trapp exhausts look cool but this was cheap and easier for me.

I have a different yoshimura muffler on my GS, this one is oval with 1.75" ID core. I chopped it down to 17" long IIRC. The sound of my GS is the thing I love most about it. Sounds big and mean at idle and has a throaty tenor as you rev it. Blows away my Triumph for exhaust tone.
