The screen and tube are long from the gas tank. I would like the bike to have some reserve.
How long is the original (how far does it stick up into the tank)?

I came up with a piece of fitting that I can press into the petcock. It will stick up about 1" (25.4 mm)
Is that long enough?
TIA!

Has anyone ever had this petcock out and know how long the tube is?

I guess I can do it the hard and messy way, but I thought someone here had this petcock out of a tank before.

Thanks Sledge.

That looks long, but I can't see where the tube ends.

I found something a bit longer, a brass hose mender.  I turned the end for a light press and knocked it in with a bit of red loctite 263.

It will stick into the tank approx 35mm.  If that's not enough reserve, I can add a short piece of plastic  tubing.
