Good day,
I have the original front brake caliper on a 1993e GS500e .  I am trying to remove the brake pads for replacement.  On pictures and videos it shows a retention cotter type pin to remove the lower rod so that the large pad can swing out for removal.  This assembly does not look like the later models and I don't see anyway to remove the rod that the brake pad support rids on.  ??? pictures attached.
I pushed the rubber boots back but no pin or other means of removal like bolt head.
Suggestions?
Ty
The rear was easy and looks like all of the posts found on the rear.

It just so happens that I have a caliper nearby.

No cotter on the early caliper.

The caliper and bracket slide

Slide the bracket all the way toward the pistons, so the pad is almost off the pins, (So the rubber bellows are being compressed)

Hold pressure and just pull one ear off.

To put the pad back in, hold the bracket again, tip the top of the pad and it will slip right in over the pins.

Used Suzuki GS500 = motorcycle adventure without leaving the shop.

That was very cool ty. :thumb: O0
I used bottle nose pliers to get a bit of leverage.  The pin did not compress so easy for the last millimeter.   Headed off to amazon to get a match , seems like some of the online matching look ups from EBC and others give the later model pads where the inner pad has a loop as well.  Mine are rectangle and pop in place only the outer one has loops on the end.  Thanks  :flipoff:
seems like the ceramic are the more expensive and I would bet worth the price difference?
looks like these are the $20 cheap ones but they come with matching back pair???
