Gs 500 loud engine noise when redlined

Hello, i recently bought a 2002. gs 500 in what i assume is pretty good condition. Been riding it for 3 weeks and apart from the cam knock i didnt find much wrong with it. Today went to redline it completely and what i found is that after like 11-12 k rpm the engine starts making a pretty loud sound (sth like loud ticking), its not metalic just like a fast loud ticking noise, it stops as soon as it gets bellow those rpms. So my question is do i need to be worried about it or gs just makes that noise?. I didnt notice any abnormal noises aside from that, just a really subtle ticking when decelerating to a stop, but its hard to even hear if im not paying attention to it. I have that revs sound recorded, will post it here but not sure how much can be heard trough video.

Nice looking bike, dont go to redline should cure your problem :-)

Thanks  :thumb: yee hopefully. Checked the sparkplugs, at least they are the same color but they are white-gray. Will need to rejet soon i guess.

There's nothing much up there at those revs anyway. What's the point?

Ok, googled a bit and possibly found my answer, is it possible that what i was hearing is floating valves? Considering that sound was at about 12 k rmp for maby a second(i know im f%$king dumb i find the sound cool and didnt know it could hurt) i believe i got it to that rpm only once for test and other times i shift it at 11 k max and at those rmps i think i hear that sound slightly starting to kick in. Now im scared that it could have hurt the engine. Is it possible to inflict damage this way and how bad is it when valves float? Nothing really changed much, it still runs the same.

Now i have 1 more sound question which I will post here so that I dont open new topic over nothing. I know im probably overly paranoid about engine sounds, but I just recently got the bike and cant help it as I dont know what to expect as normal and whats not.

Every once in a while a bike will make a pretty loud pop from what i assume is not coming from exhaust but the engine. It has original exhaust and there is no exhaust poping. I dont believe it is a backfire either as it doesnt sound snappy but just deep and loud. For now it has happened 3 times in like 1000 km and all of this times when giving throttle from idle or close to idle(for example when pulling off from a stop light, or rolling in a traffic) it will just make a random bang which doesnt seem to affect anything else. Also not sure if this is related but it seems to happen soon after i add a bit of oil(i add like 50-100 ml oil because i notice oil level drop slightly after few hundred km, and no i dont think i overfill it, i put it just bellow the F mark, while sitting on the bike, and not screwing the dipstick in. First time it happend right after oil top up, second time maby 50 km after and the last time a bit more after. Also my head cover gasket seems to be a little bit wet with oil all the time, not enough to call it a leak but just a bit. After that pop i think i notice a little bit more oil on the gasket. Does all this make any sense and should i be conserned?
