Hi fellow GSers, I wonder if someone can help me. My front caliper is leaking at the bleed valve.  I originally replaced the master cylinder, all good. A few days later I noticed brake fluid weeping from the bleed valve. So I tightened it and a few days later still leaking so I REALLY tightened it! Burred the nut. Bought a new bleed valve, removed the caliper and thoroughly cleaned it and put it all back together.  Worked perfect except ... you guessed it, fkn bleed valve still leaking.  Anyone had this happen to them or got any advice, cheers

I have had limited success by using PTFE tape on the threads of the bleed valve. This only works if the fluid is leaking from around the thread.
If its coming out of the hole in the centre of the bleed valve then I would suggest there is a probably some damage to the surface where the bleed valve seats within the calliper. In this situation the best thing to do is purchase a used calliper on ebay or wherever you can get one. Maybe sell yours as spares or repair to offset the costs.
Let us know how you get on.
To get something you have never had you have to do something you have never done.

Hi GSman, thanks for that. I'm not sure if the fluid is leaking from the thread or the nipple. The fact that it has leaked with 2 different nipples makes me think it's probably to do with the seating in the caliper. I'll do some investigation and let you know, cheers.
