Hey fellas, I changed the blinkers over from bulb to LED on my 2009 500F cafe racer project- with no success  (and blew the relay)... Learnt they don't make a 'complete circuit'...
So have changed front to blub and left rear as is, installed new relay and they now all work.  However they blink too slowly (for Aussie ADR rules anyway...)
I'd appreciate any advice as to what may cause this issue please...
Thanks in advance, cheers

You didn't blow the relay. The stock bi-metal relay needs that current draw from a incandescent bulb to heat itself and that heat produces differential expansion in the 2 metals and they break contact, only to cool when current is 0 and make contact again etc etc - you didn't blow it because it is super high current that blows it, the LED's draw very very little current. They draw too little current to allow it to heat up.

The fix - There is a digital relay called a wagner 552 (in the US) looks like -

You need a digital flasher relay that works with any current level, a switching transistor controls the flashing rate and its set to DOT specs.

Cool.

See my post in the other thread where you posted the same thing.

You didn't blow the relay. You don't need an incandescent bulb on the front. You just need the right relay and the correct polarity.
